Safe mode not work in PM 27.1

Unread post by smolnyn » 2017-02-21, 13:00

Pale moon refreshing and safe mode will not work in Palemoon 27.1. I uninstalled it, deleted the profile and re-installed by the installer, but no result.

Pale Moon 27.1.0 or 27.1.1? (If you're not on 27.1.1, you should probably update and try again, in case whatever is causing the issue has already been fixed.) And what are the symptoms of safe mode "not working" that you're experiencing? (In other words, what is not happening that should be; or is happening that should not be?)

What security software are you using?

It's not uncommon for Pale Moon to have issues with some security software, it's as if they refuse to class and treat it as a browser.

I can confirm the same problems as outlined by the OP.
None of the buttons works from the Troubleshooting Information page, ie.
Copy raw data to clipboard
Copy text to clipboard
Refresh Pale Moon
Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Open Directory

However Restart with Add-ons Disabled does work from the Help drop-down menu in the Menu Bar

Don,t know if this is just a recent problem with PM 27, the only one of these I've ever used is Copy text to clipboard and that will be a couple of years back!
Running PM 27.1.1 64bit in Arch Linux installed from pminstaller!

Smolnyn can you raise bug report in the Bug Report (Linux & others) subforum!

I have reported issue #911 in the Github repo for this problem.

This is also the case under Ubuntu, same non-working buttons.

I saw a comment from Travis on the Github issue that there's a commit that fixes this issue, so I expect that it will be fixed with the next release.
