It's possible that gmx has moved off of mixed cleartext and only accepts implicit encrypted connections.
This means you could try outgoing: SSL/TLS on port 465 (instead of STARTTLS of 587)

It still receives ok. Epyrus won't remember passwords for outgoing mail. I need to insert a P/W each time and even if the 'remember pw' box is ticked it forgets. Tested with multiple accounts. Why can't it remember ?

The STARTTLS 587 is still correct. For some reason one of the GMX emails won't send email but will receive with Epyrus. Before I reset the password yet again is there any way to test or troubleshoot this accounts setup ?
I am using GMX mail with Epyrus which is mostly used for receiving, but I just checked and it is sending emails OK.
My outgoing server settings in case it helps are:
Server name: mail.gmx.com
Port: 465
Username: my full GMX email address
Authentication: Normal Password
Connection Security: SSL/TLS
@geraldh,
I've tried your settings but mail still won't send on that account. Strange because on my main GMX account Epyrus sends & receives OK. I'll contact GMX customer support and see what they say.
Thanks
Fixed. The outgoing server settings were incorrectly set on Epyrus. I changed a few email passwords recently and must have missed that one setting. Mystery over.
