Owl for Exchange

Post by russdacic » 2026-01-03, 05:20

Does anybody know of a way to make Owl work in Epyrus? There isn't a listed compatible version but I'm just curious... I'd really like to be able to use Epyrus again and this is the only thing really stopping me

I've actually been interested in that as well (at least as an idea), though I think Owl is a paid extension for Thunderbird and have no idea if the author would accept its use on Epyrus. Ideally I would have preferred to implement native Exchange support, but overall things do seem to be moving away from Exchange and towards OAuth2 faster than I would have hoped. I likely don't have time to figure this out properly... maybe if I'd done it two years ago.

Suffice it to say, I would be pretty happy if this could be made to work in Epyrus because I could also make good use of it... but the fact that I'm the developer of Epyrus and don't know where to start with something like this (as far as legal implications and such) probably isn't a good sign. LOL.

I use DavMail for this. Not the lightest, but works well to circumvent anything OAuth / Exchange related

Wow, that looks really good. And then you could serve the email to your computers, tablets, phones. Nice!
