Download file hashes

Post by Garland » 2025-12-24, 00:29

I used Pale Moon 33.9.1 to download "epyrus-2.1.3.win64.installer.exe" from http://www.epyrus.org/ (Pale Moon warns the https version is untrusted). The installer is unsigned, and 4 engines on virustotal.com declared it as malicious. Nobody from the community has voted that this particular installer file is safe at virustotal.com.

@athenian200 - I trust you, but I am wondering whether your site got hacked. Could you add hashes to the Epyrus release thread?

For other forum members that want to add their assurance, please include a hash and the date of your download.

My installer from 2024-07-13 is

Code: Select all

SHA256: f11760e8c13f44efefd3cf305ed160ddecf539d0197a0ce6262a7ea0d7e33009
VT shows the 4 "malicious" report, mostly pointing to "UXP installer from Moonchild".

I will not tell you yours is a false positive (I would say mine is clean), but you could run it on any.run or www.joesandbox.com and see if it does anything you dont want.

Thanks for the kind help. I now feel comfortable with installing "epyrus-2.1.3.win64.installer.exe".
