You saw it on Netscape, you saw it on Firefox 3, now Modern Modoki comes to life again on Pale Moon as Modoki Moon!
You can download this from the Pale Moon Add-Ons Site. Source code is on GitHub.

That was one of my old favourites. So long ago I'd forgotten about it! Good to have it back. Nice one!

Can't believe what I see! I used those (the orange one) ages ago ... until they outdated it
After Foxkeh was gone too I switched to LWT only, but this makes me probably change my mind ...
nice work

Well, you can have your cake and eat it, too - This theme (and most of my others, as well) fully supports Personas, via use of the Persona Switcher addon.loxodont wrote:Can't believe what I see! I used those (the orange one) ages ago ... until they outdated it

Lootyhoof, how do I disable the tab colour element? I use ColorfulTabs, but with Modoki they're all silver.

I'm not sure what your problem is, exactly. I just installed that addon and it shows as expected (although the additional bottom border it draws on the tab bar is very much not appreciated...).Joel Cairo wrote:Lootyhoof, how do I disable the tab colour element? Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.0.0
Curious one, this. I had it - seemingly - over-riding ColorfulTabs on PM in Windows 7/8.1 (shared profile) and on Mint 17.2 (seperate profile) - but not doing so in XP (also it's own profile). Of course, those are 3 different PM versions.Lootyhoof wrote:I'm not sure what your problem is, exactly. In Mint and Win 7/8.1, if I disabled ColorfulTabs, closed the browser, started it again and re-enabled ColorfulTabs, CT worked - but only until the next restart! Similarly keeping CT running but disabling MM. Works on initial re-enabling, but only until next restart. But I guess you either know this by now, or something else in my specific set-up is involved. If the latter, I'll post back when I've identified it! In ColorfulTabs, you deselect 'Display tab stack...etc' under 'Tweaks', which gets rid of the border you mention. I guess the developer likes it!
Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.0.0
And now - having done nothing bar upgrade NOD32 - it is working (in Windows 7 x64, and both PM 25.6.0 and 25.6.1 b1).
Initially, when I fired up the beta, the theme I'd used in the previous beta - Firefox 2 reloaded - was now incompatible. So I installed your FF2 build, and all the tabs were white (or off-white?). So I did the disable, restart, re-enable ColorfulTabs thing, got my colourful tabs back, closed and re-opened the browser - and still had the coloured tabs. Installed Moduki Moon, same result. Re-enabled MM in 25.6.0, went through the same process - and still have them!
Guess I'd better boot Mint and do it there too. I don't run AV in Linux (though the Windows instance does have access to the Mint drives...not that I believe this to be implicated).
All these add-ons are brilliant, but do make it a pita finding the source of niggling browser issues!

Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.0.0
Today I fired up 25.6.0 and again the tabs were all grey/silver. In 25.6.1 b1 they were still coloured.
Having done the disable/re-enable trick to get colour back in 25.6.0 - then close/re-start, I still had coloured tabs. So I switched to Firefox 2 reloaded and again have monochrome (?) tabs! I shall contact the CT developer! (Truth to tell, though the extension has worked very well for many years, his 'Aggressive mode' has never seemed 100%. Though ~99% ain't too shabby).

I don't care to register on a forum to ask the guy a question he doesn't seem to want to address anyway. He appears to put it down to theme developers painting tabs.
Consistently today ColorfulTabs works in the Goanna beta, with Modokl Moon, but not in 25.6.0. NP using Aeon Clouds fwiw.

Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.0.0
I'm not really sure what to say, to be honest, since it worked for me and sporadically works for you. It's most likely an issue with the addon for this reason, as it sometimes wants to work and sometimes not. I'm afraid, if it still happens, you'll just have to live with it.
Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.0.0
Yeah. In Silvermel now (in 25.6.0) and just noticed the tabs are all the same colour. Most of the time problems seem to be profile corruption, but this is in two seperate profiles. Silvermel is the theme I've used exclusively for years - co-existing with ColorfulTabs. And yesterday I reverted to and older CT build to no avail. Guess I'll have to make a new profile and install add-ons one at a time, a-bloody-gain. Do hope it isn't YouTube High Definition - installed last week - as it does a brilliant job! It obviously isn't Modoki Moon.
Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.0.0
I think I've sussed the common factor. Agent spoofing. Restarting over and over the tabs switch between coloured and monotone with about the same frequency YouTube switches between displaying the full screen button.
I'm too tired to work out the implications now. I'm turning off.
Edit: I've downloaded an old version of ColorfulTabs, and Firefox 25, and get the behaviour in all themes - including defaults. So it's neither Modoki Moon or Pale Moon at fault. Now I wonder if I should have my contributions to this thread removed.

Re: [Release] Modoki Moon v1.1.2
Modoki Moon has been updated to v1.1.2, in preparation for Windows 10-specific changes in the next public release of Pale Moon 26. In addition, tweaks were made to tabs, such that Tree-Style Tabs now works correctly, and pinned tabs look correct when tabs are overflowing.
