Thanks LootyHoof!
Another question, will the Australium theme include this fix? What I'm asking is, if I apply this theme in Pale Moon on Linux, will it look the same as in Windows?

Thank You, once again!

No, I don't plan for this.

Australis, and by extension Australium, look different for each OS. As such I intend to keep with this, using both toolbar icons and close icons that best fit the OS they're on.

Comparing Australium use in Pale Moon v27.x to default theme in Basilisk or Firefox pre-57:

Australium in Pale Moon v27.x lacks the tolerance of cursor placement (for selecting another tab) inherent in Basilisk/FF pre-57. As a result, use is less reliable / less enjoyable. I'm hoping this is fixable in default code or adjustable by user setting. It's great that the tab changes color when the cursor is properly placed to allow selection of the new tab, but frustrating that the placement of cursor needs to be so precise on center of tab. If that placement tolerance is hard-coded, I'd ask for the radius from center of tab to be maybe doubled.

Oops... I might be slightly wrong. Rather than radius of cursor placement, this may be a matter of left-to-right cursor calibration (relative to tabs). The tabs "light up" indicating shift in selection as one moves the cursor right-to-left and left-to-right across the tabs. Doing this over pinned tabs gives the best indication of calibration. The behavior is quite different left-to-right vs right-to-left, with tabs "lighting up" early going left-to-right and late going right-to-left.

This calibration is much more accurate in Basilisk/FF pre-57 vs Australium in Pale Moon v27.x.

I hope that feedback is understandable. I'm trying hard to explain.

I apologize if this has been addressed in previous posts. Couldn't figure out how to search for this issue.

I'm on Windows 10 1709 with the 32-bit browsers.

^ FWIW, I see the same behaviour with Basilisk tabs on Mac. It's difficult to select a tab unless pointer is over the tab title text.

This is a bit of a tricky one. The tabs need to be that specific shape/size because of how they're built for the Australis style. I'll see what I can do.

For what it's worth though, with the default tab widths I have no issues selecting tabs, either pinned or not (in that there is no specific precision required - just that the edges of the tabs overlap slightly).

Do you get the same precision/calibration moving over the tabs left-to-right as right-to-left? I think I'm using default widths too.

The calibration I get (Australium in PM v27.x on Windows 10) is off by about 40% of pinned tab width, as though the pinned tab were located a bit left of where it's displayed. Thus, moving cursor left to right, tabs "light up" early; when moving right to left, tabs "light up" late. Not true however when moving off the active tab itself; moving off the active tab in either direction works the same in either direction for the first tab transition, holding the active tab and switching to adjacent tab left or right when the cursor reaches about 40% of pinned tab width into the adjacent tab. As you transition on to the next tabs (two off from active tab and beyond in either direction), that's when the above miscalibration is evident, different between directions (and leads to mis-selection of tabs if you're not careful). Frustrating enough to avoid the theme if it doesn't work intuitively for the user.

One of the reasons I want to love and keep using Australium is the larger size of the close tab buttons (relative to other themes). And I love the look and feel and the very effective color scheme.

Just awesome (in Windows 10 32-bit)!!! Just upgraded from 27.9.4 to 28.1.0 and upgraded to Australium v4.3.1.
Tab selection calibration moving cursor back and forth is perfect!
Tab highlight colors are terrific (I'm also using Active Tab More Visible): active tab white, tab pointed to by cursor light gray, and inactive tabs dark gray.
Close tab buttons are nice and big.
Terrific ergonomics!
I may have a new default UI (vs light themes over Default).

No disable button, but if another theme is enabled, Australium seems to disable appropriately with browser restart.

Australium may have disabled by itself once but that may have been caused by sync.

***

Also running PM 28.1.0 in MX Linux 32-bit (from MX Linux repos).
Australium v4.3.1 works; tab selection calibration also perfect.
But tabs are all the same gray color, even the active tab (ignoring Active Tab More Visible).
No disable button again and some initial confusion re: which theme was active (disable button still showing for prior theme).
One can play with enable/disable buttons and resolve the button conflicts.
As in Windows, you can enable another theme and thus simultaneously disable Australium (with browser restart).

***

So, a little bit of confusion re: (missing) disable buttons, but the Windows version works great. And the Linux version works well too but with no tab color variation and smaller (normal-sized) tab close buttons.

Thanks for your efforts!

I thought I would try out this theme today, it's beautiful, but I think I found a small cosmetic issue.
I have added the New Window icon to the tab bar

When the browser is the active window it shows incorrectly as a download arrow but the button still works as expected.
Active
Active
When the browser is the inactive window it show correctly as the rectangle window icon.
Inactive
Inactive
It seems to only have this behavior when added to the tab bar. The navigation toolbar works no problem.

Australium has been updated to v4.5.1. This only adds Pale Moon 29 compatibility via a version bump, there are no actual code changes in this release.
