No, I just mean adding a more intense gradient to the toolbar to give it more of a 3D look.
Lootyhoof wrote:Using a larger effect on the toolbar buttons isn't possible due to the size of them; they're larger than they should be already.
Well, the Afterglow theme did this quite nicely without making the buttons too big. That theme still works on Pale Moon 26 too.
Lootyhoof wrote:I've no plans at present to introduce that shading behind icons on the bookmarks bar.
You've already done that effect on the view all tabs button. Would it be that much work to add it to others?

I really like this theme's kind of more intense 3d effects and it would be nice if you could find a way to implement any or all of these changes one of these days. I know how much work seemingly simple things like this are to change, and I appreciate the work you've done already. :) :coffee:

The buttons are vector.. Unless you can provide us with vector versions of the current icon set with the Netscape effect on them we aren't going to hop to this for a while if ever..

Also, toolbar buttons on the bookmarks toolbar have the same effect as they do in Netscape. However, the bookmarks toolbar item with the folders and pages do not have this effect in Netscape thus it is consistent.

As reasonably possible except for the main toolbar buttons this theme is as close to Netscape/SeaMonkey as it can be on Non-Netscape.

Toolbar Button effect => RESOLVED WONTFIX
Bookmarks having an effect => RESOLVED INVALID

Oldversion.com has a download of Netscape 7 available. Since its skinning engine is similar, could you pull the icons from there? I tried but have no idea where to look.

Netscape does not have all the icons needed and those icons are raster images with a background.. I have explored the possibility off and on for years.. Why do you think we use button images that are similar but not 1:1.. because we have more buttons than Netscape or even SeaMonkey has. If you mix and match styles it will look terrible also since the Netscape/Suite ones have a background they must be perfectly aligned or else the gradient doesn't line up..

You or someone MUST create new ones.. End of story.

Past Modern Revisited has been updated to v1.5.0. This adds support for the Pale Moon 27 developer tools (the built-in tools, not the extension).

Pale Moon 26 support has been removed from this release.

Past Modern Revisited has been updated to v1.5.2. While this is a small update, it adds a feature some have asked for for a while: toolbarbutton dropshadow! Now you can feel even closer to the Netscape/Mozilla Suite experience.

Image

What's new?
- add dropshadow to toolbar icons on the navigation toolbar
- allow extensions to style their own toolbarbutton badges

Thanks Lootyhoof; this is glorious! It's amazing how one little change does so much.

Past Modern Revisited has been updated to v2.0.0. While this isn't as glamorous as other major releases I've done recently, this does finally add some proper icons for the sync and feed buttons, and gives an overhaul to the zoom buttons, too. :) It should also fix icon mappings for any extensions that assume that the toolbar image is always the same as the default theme.

What's new?
- add new icons for zoom/feed/sync buttons
- add new toolbar image to help extension compatibility
- style the downloads indicator icon properly
- add imagedocument.png for when viewing standalone images
- fix size of scale widget
- fix learn more links in popup notifications
- remove Social API components
- cleanup of current toolbar images to save space

For those curious, I have pushed SVGs of the new icons too. They're located here.

And yet another bug.

This one is a little harder to reproduce:
  1. Enable permanent menu bar
  2. Enable small icons
  3. Disable bookmarks bar
  4. Open enough tabs so in the tab list there are exactly 9 columns and 7 rows of tab previews.
