The arrow on the right looks clickable. Out of curiosity, what happens if you do?
Nothing.
Does this also happen in the default theme?
Default theme is normal.
Also, was Photonic the only thing that updated recently (in your system in general, not just Pale Moon)?
Checked on site Pale Moon dependencies. Nothing of them was updated recently.

Maybe this weird thing appears only on my system -- but I can't find any reasons for this. Maybe guy with Mint from previous post just do not notice it yet. As I said: it loads not every time.

Thanks and sorry for my bad English. Will use 1.0.0 for awhile.

Nothing to notice. Try in a new PM profile.

@Lootyhoof

Last couple days I dig Photonic's github trying to understand what changed comparing to previous version. So, if revert this "my" bug dissapears.

I don't know why. Maybe you do.

Photonic has been updated to v2.0.1.

What's new?
- Pale Moon: only draw border on tab bar when on bottom
- Basilisk: adjust urlbar search icon opacity
- override old about:addons category icons to show SVGs instead

Thanks for this theme, really nice, tried it out today.
But I find it doesn't integrate well with Tree Style Tabs https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/treestyletabforpm/
On the root tab, highlight and text is shifted up and doesn't enclose the entire tab area. Child tabs are fine

How is your TST configured? This doesn't look like any of the defaults.

Photonic has been updated to v2.1.0. Among other small fixes in this release, I also added styling for about:home, provided the Home Styler extension is installed (which was also just updated to v2.0.0 for this occasion). This styling, and the mentioned extension, are also compatible with Basilisk. :)

Enjoy!

What's new?
- add about:home styling (requires Home Styler v2.0.0 and above)
- make sure the search button on the newtab page is always legible
- Basilisk: add a sync tabs button (v2019.06.08 and later)
- Basilisk: invert history icon on bright text
- Pale Moon: don't let the TST twisty set a max-height
- Linux: fix Basilisk tab bar appearance

Do you plan to work on a dark mode version sometime in the future? If not, how hard would it be for somebody who is alright at CSS, but with no experience at theme creation?

I don't plan to, no. I'd suggest you explore the IDs of the interface using DOM Inspector by pressing shift+right-click on any part of the UI to get a feel for how that's structured, then exploring the related CSS files and seeing what you can change. :)

I had a question that I posted in another thread, regarding Photonic (maybe I should have posted it here)

You can ignore the above post. Lootyhoof solved it for me :)

Just one more question, and its just itty-bitty so no urgency.

When I select tabs below the address bar, is there a way to make all tabs appear with a line between the navigation/address bars and all the tabs (even inactive ones)? Quantum has a way to separate them it seems, and even other Pale Moon themes seem to (such as PM Opera or Maxi 4)

Again no biggie. Just curious if there's a way to accomplish this.

I'm not sure I understand. Do you have a screenshot?

I'll have to get you that when I get home from work.

If you look at the Maxi4 or PM Opera themes though, and place tabs underneath the address bar, you'll notice that the tabs have a top line closing off the square shaped tab, even when tabs are not active. When you use Photonic ion the same manner, only the active tab has a top line. The other tabs are simply separated with vertical lines, whereas I'd prefer a nice square tab.

I'll see what I can find on the web that shows what I mean :) Thanks Lootyhoof.

Here we go: Look at this image from Github:

Notice the inactive tab on Firefox has a top line. That doesn't happen in Photonic.

That isn't saying "Quantum has a way", FYI. :) That's a custom CSS that Aris creates in place of Firefox 57+ not allowing full themes anymore.

With that said, you could probably use something like this to get a similar effect:

Code: Select all

#tabbrowser-tabs[tabsontop=false] {
  margin-top: -1px !important;
}

#TabsToolbar[tabsontop=false] {
  border-top: 1px solid var(--tabs-border-color) !important;
}

Upgrading to the latest unstable Pale Moon 29.0.0a1 for Linux today (.xz !), a message was displayed that Photonic theme was incompatible and had been disabled. It was 2.2.0 Photonic which seems the latest. This suggests Photonic might need updating in due course before the stable release gets to this point.
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been...
