I know we're getting off-topic now, but I didn't start it.
Still, I'd be interested to know why a restartless add-on for Pale Moon isn't a good idea.

Off-topic:
Anything more complex than a function to listen for events, especially if it interacts with the GUI, is prone to obscure and possibly unfixable bugs that have been leaving developers scratching their heads since the inception of the boostrapping/restartless system.
There are also subtleties in known bugs which, if the developer is unprepared (i.e. it didn't read all the bug reports on bugzilla), will cause even more issues in addition to the one explained above.

Off-topic:Thank you for your explanation.

I didn't understand everything, but I accept that restartless add-ons for Pale Moon are not a good idea.

Was just wondering, does anyone want an "autoplay" preference for this, or are we all in agreement that autoplay videos are the second incarnation of satan prince of darkness?

I don't need "autoplay" function.

Thank you, RealityRipple. An autoplay preference would certainly make sense. Why would anyone open a YouTube link (commentless, too) if not to play a video? Autoplay NEXT is the satan prince etc.
If you could also throw a default resolution option in there somewhere...

I can think of a very good reason why someone would not want a YouTube tab to start playing a video automatically as soon as it is opened. If one does a search for a certain type of videos, and middle-clicks several interesting-looking suggestions, one does not want all those tabs to start playing videos at once.

Right, I forgot about the 500+ open tabs users that never bookmark stuff.

I believe this is the reason why the concept of "user settings" was created.
I'm also sure it won't take much time for RealityRipple to add this configuration.

I'm afraid YouTube
no longer has a way to force the default resolution. It might be possible via limiting the size of the iframe, but since in this case the height is always 100% (-5px), I can't really do anything for that.

Just wanted to say thanks for this add on. I'd love one that forced the layout of the YT homepage to the old way and removes the becoming-ridiculous number of options such as "cinema mode" at the bottom of the video.
For those occasions where I want to see comments or other videos from the same channel, is there a quick way to do this, beyond disabling the add on?

As mentioned in an earlier post in this topic, you can click the "watch on youtube" link in the bottom left corner of the video before you hit Play to visit the "real" page.

YouTube forces the lowest possible resolution unless you have some way to override that. I have a script for Greasemonkey that will force high definition if it is available, otherwise if will set the highest available.
I like cinema mode. If full screen looks too blurry, cinema mode is the next best thing.

Thank you, I found that feature. It would be nice if there was some way to return to the "real" page after starting play, as I sometimes dare to venture into the black hole of youtube comments to share my thoughts on something I've watched.
Also, you look like Rob Zombie, and that is awesome.

The complaints about YouTube continue. I'm officially asking to have uTube and MTube added to the add-ons list as Externals. Since Looty has stepped down from management in that area, who should I send such requests to in the future?
