No changes, only a maxVersion number bump to accommodate PM 29.

Thank you for what you have done with "Pure URL" ...
I am envious of what you can do. ;)

Not my credit :)
I just ported it from CAA after asking the developer, he wasn't interested in maintaining it. I've added a few extra default filters, that's all.
If you use Basilisk, you should be able to install the original version from CAA. Interestingly, he has a WebExtensions version too on AMO, but it is incomplete as of now (can't configure anything for starters).

@ moonbat ;)

Github project
Releases page https://github.com/luciph0r/pureurl4pm/releases
- lists v1.2.1 (21-Sept-2019) as most recent
- it does not list v1.2.2 (27-Jan-2020) as per https://addons.palemoon.org/releases/pureurl4pm/

OR is the Github project not by you ?

:oops:
It is. I was facing problems with Github due to the UA and totally forgot to update it there. Have published a version now.

Updated to 1.2.3 - Moved the source repository to Gitlab and changed the homepage in the manifest. No changes to functionality.

Version 2.0 - big update
  • Converted it to an overlay(XUL) extension - you now have to restart after install/update.
  • New UI - toolbar button with quick access to settings, options dialog with a proper list of fields and Tools menu entry.
  • New feature - logs processed URLs to console.

Thank you for the nice update, moonbat! Perhaps you could consider removing the grey icon background?

Do you mean the color? The icon itself has a transparent background. I'm planning additional cosmetic changes and features, this release was for base functionality using XUL.

This only happens when the icon is put on the Status Bar. As you can see from the screenshot, it's the only icon that creates a grey, rectangular background.

Which screenshot? It uses a PNG with a transparent background. Just moved it to the status bar to confirm:

That's strange, since it uses a transparent background icon and doesn't change any colors anywhere, and I use a vanilla profile for development. Could it be your theme or some user.css changes?
Also is this on Windows? I've developed on Linux and don't have access to a Windows setup to test.

Yes, it's Windows 10. I have a few light themes, and I tried disabling them. I also use userChrome.css and removed it. Issue remains. Same occurs on a clean Pale Moon portable.

Just tossing in my observation: Since the darker background extends to the dropdown arrow, it's not an image issue. It'd be the element background itself

I've downloaded the extension and in the skin folder there is overlay.css which has:

Code: Select all

#button-pureurl4pm {
	list-style-image:url('chrome://pureurl4pm/skin/icon.png') !important;
	background-color: #cccccc;
}
#menu-pureurl4pm-options {
		list-style-image:url('chrome://pureurl4pm/skin/icon.png') !important;
	}
background-color: #cccccc is the culprit.

A note: you should at all times try to avoid using !important in css, too.
