Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
Please keep this thread about the extension.
And even with examples of "good restartless", it doesn't mean it'll work here.
Submit a patch if you think eMatrix can be fixed, thanks.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
My post came out as harsh, but really, eMatrix has a complex startup, so simple examples made from the ground up apply only so much. You can distribute them to teach how to do things properly, but it's an unrelated (but appreciated) effort.
I'm also not omnipotent and it's normal to miss where the problem lies; if anyone has any breakthrough on the matter I'm more than interested on it. But again, it has to be in the context of the extension, due to the already mentioned complex startup.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
Can you please explain how to whitelist a domain? Twitter has been giving me crap for a few days, and on Waterfox (where I still use NoScript), there was some issue with twimg (I swear I allowed that one). So I allowed it (again??), and Twitter unbroke.
So, I want to whitelist twimg.com in nMatrix, and the UI is a bit confusing.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
Twitter has been giving alot of people problems. A search would have found several very recent threads.KlarkKentThe3rd wrote: ↑2021-04-04, 05:45Twitter has been giving me crap for a few days

In response, Twitter's SSUAO is being updated, so hopefully that will fix it for you too.
As for whitelisting twimg.com...
To start, try just allowing twimg's scripts and cross-site-requests (XHR) on twitter.com, see screenshot:
(note: no twitter account here, so there's a limit to what I can test)

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
This solved everything, thanks! I was unable to whitelist anything because Twitter would not load for me originally (now it does). Cannot whitelist what you cannot see displayed.coffeebreak wrote: ↑2021-04-04, 09:19Twitter has been giving alot of people problems. Also, there is no way to white list a domain manually?

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
There is, it's within the matrix rules framework.
(there's not a physically separate "whitelist tab" or similar)
- Dashboard -> Rules, for syntax examples.
- uMatrix wiki
(Dashboard -> About -> uMatrix links -> Documentation).
How to "allow all" in uMatrix

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
Why yes, I know about this place. Would I need to hit Enter to start a new line, and manually type "allow, true, etc"?

Kindly read the wiki article.
There is more one "level of hardness" possible for whitellisting a domain, so not identical rules.
(and while whitelistings show up in the rules tab, they can be implemented via the popup)

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
I was talking about already knowing the domain URL, and manually whitelisting it, instead of going to the site and waiting till nMatrix shows me the URL.

Rules syntaxKlarkKentThe3rd wrote: ↑2021-04-04, 23:31instead of going to the site and waiting till nMatrix shows me the URL
Please read the entire article through to the end.
Also, try creating one whitelist through the popup, then look at the result in the rules tab to see the syntax .

4.4.8 is now live. If you have disabled automatic updates, remember to start the check for updates procedure.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
Thanks, I'm not as used to looking at Gitlab releases. Was looking at the regular source tree and the readme.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
A fairly serious exploit was reported today and thankfully the solution turned out to be simple.
I'm still going to wait for a few days of testing just in case I missed something.
You can grab the test release here: https://gitlab.com/vannilla/ematrix/-/tags/v4.4.9

Not really, since GitLab is hostile towards Pale Moon, making the page unreadable.fatboy wrote: ↑2021-05-10, 11:55I think this will help?
