This is my current set of working configurations both enter and exit fullscreen without losing their respective bars, show fullscreen correctly, and do not show any Tab Bar or other elements when in fullscreen:
Pale Moon 28: TGOS 1.0.6 Modified (includes multipanel files from 1.0.7 as above) and Tab Kit 0.13.0
Basilisk 2018-09-05: AOIS 0.7.31.1 Modified (includes Page Info files from TGOS 1.0.8a1) and Tab Kit 0.13.0 - Only issue here, cannot separate AIOS and Tab Bar, both same side stuck (left or right depending on which settings used).

Pale Moon 28:
TGOS 1.0.6 (modified as previously noted) does not lose the TGOS bar on exit fullscreen. Fullscreen can be entered and exited without issue. TGOS bar only lost with 1.0.8a1 (1.0.7 not tested).
TGOS 1.0.6.modified & TK 0.13.0:
TGOS: On the Left
TK - On the right
TK Fullscreen Behavour: Auto Collapse (Splitter hidden)
TK Fullscreen Value in Event Callback: Value After Change

Basilisk 2018-09-05:
I can state that with AIOS 0.7.31.1 and Tab Kit I am able to get fullscreen video without the Tab Bar visible in Fullscreen with the configuration in the first shot of the imageurl collection.
These are the settings in use on Basilisk to achieve working Fullscreen with AOIS and 2 different versions of Tab Kit.
AIOS 0.7.31.1 & Tab Kit 0.12.17:
AOIS - On the Left (even though it ends up on the Right)
TK Tab Bar - On the Right
TK Fullscreen Behavour: Auto Collapse (Splitter hidden)
TK Fullscreen Value in Event Callback: Value After Change

AIOS 0.7.31.1 & Tab Kit 0.13.0 (requires install.rdf change):
AOIS - On the Right
TK Tab Bar - On the Right
TK Fullscreen Behavour: Auto Collapse (Splitter hidden)
TK Fullscreen Value in Event Callback: Value After Change

Neither configuration loses the AIOS bar. Fullscreen can be entered and exited without issue.
Since I rolled back to TK 0.12.17 on Basilisk, I tried that with TGOS as well. While I had to play around with which sides things were on, the results were the same as with 0.13.0 (just different settings of Left/Right mixes).

-
I apologize for not including the settings used. Hopefully they will help diagnose the issues. please let me know if there is anything else I can do to diagnose. I will attempt to test "remove the entries of AiOS from xulstore.json" as soon as possible.

Anyway, thanks for looking and keeping this useful functionality alive. Especially given the complexity of getting these 2 addons working together nicely.

FWIW, you can replace Tab Kit 0.13.0 with Tab Kit 0.13.3 above for both Pale Moon and Basilisk as I've updated both to 0.13.3 of Tab Kit. Same effect, but at least now they're current.

Thanks for the information. I'll be back with a test version once I get the time to do so.

I have set Control-F8 to be the main shortcut for toggling the sidebar appearance, as F4 will sometimes close the current tab in my configuration, for reasons I haven't determined. The problem is that while F4 can be configured to close the sidebar switch along with the sidebar, I can't seem to do the same thing with Control-F8. Could you please help me? Thanks!

TGS 1.0.8 (a3) is winner for me. For the first time in a long time both browsers (Pale Moon & Basilisk) running the same sidebar addon (TGS), at the same version( 1.0.8 (a3) ), no modifications, both able to use fullscreen, both have TGS on Left, both have Tab Kit on Right, and both have all the features working again.

Now I can retire the AIOS completely.

@FranklinDM, Thanks, nice work.

Have you tried setting this option to include the Sidebar Switch? The description on the left side is incorrect as this changes the behavior regardless of the shortcut you've assigned.

Here's the last test version of TGS 1.0.8 (a4) before I release the official version:
Release link - https://github.com/FranklinDM/TGS/releases/tag/v1.0.8a4

  • Minor change to PanelTab button behavior (the 2-side arrow beside the autohide button in the sidebar header: please check if there are any bugs brought by this change)
  • Restored feature: Allow viewing page source of current tab in the MultiPanel - can be accessed in the drop-down menu of the 'Page' button.
  • Allow a homepage to be set for the MultiPanel and add a home button (can be hidden by changing the pref 'extensions.aios.mp.homepage' to blank)
  • Use shared add-ons styling for Basilisk (remove style taken from OmniSidebar)

TGS v1.0.8 is now up! This release features a lot of changes.
  • Major: Add compatibility with Basilisk and possibly other XUL applications living on the Firefox GUID
  • Major: Several improvements to the MultiPanel
    • Minor: Implement synchronized scrolling between panel and content
    • Can be accessed in MultiPanel > Tools > Synchronize Scrolling
    • Minor: Reinstate view page source action from MultiPanel (previously implemented)
    • Can be accessed in MultiPanel > Page > View Page Source of Current Tab
    • Minor: Allow a homepage to be set (and a button to access it)
    • Homepage button can be hidden if you set the preference `extensions.aios.mp.homepage` to blank
    • Homepage will be shown instead of `about:blank` on start if `Remember Last Shown Content` is unchecked
  • Minor: Fix inverted full screen behavior
  • Major: Improve compatibility with Tab Kit 2 and others. (Hopefully) there are no longer any conflicts when placing both the tab pane and TGS panel on the same side
  • Minor: Functional changes to the downloads panel
    • Stop using a mutation observer and use `Downloads.jsm` instead
    • Negative: only downloads from current session are counted
    • Positive: the panel now feels a bit faster
    • Remove workaround for MR Tech Local Install
    • Remove timeout for updating downloads list
    • Use search box placeholder text with ellipsis
    • Remove dm.loadall preference
  • Minor: Several bug fixes to sidebar switch functionality
  • Minor: Remove support for Console² extension
  • Minor: Add Chinese/China (zh-CN) locale
This add-on can be updated via the Add-ons manager, by manually visiting the add-on's page in APO, or via the releases page in the GitHub repository.

TGS 1.0.8.2 is now up. This is a small release as there are no differences from the previous version aside from an updated install manifest (required to make the extension show up in the new Basilisk Add-ons Site).

I had to additionally install Sidebar To The Right to make it work.
In my "ol Sidebar" I find no options...

The menu list beside Show sidebar on provides options to choose which side the sidebar should be shown.

I realize that Pale Moon and its extension environment is in a state of flux right now, but on (deprecated) PM 30.0.1, the GoS breaks the "Page Info" display--it's mostly blank, whether displayed in the sidebar or as a separate window.

This is because the current version of The Good 'ol Sidebar (TGS) sees Pale Moon v30 as Basilisk, and as such, uses code meant for Australis-based browsers. Thanks for the info, but I'm not planning to fix or release an update for TGS targeting v30 considering its current status.

Something went wrong with merging the posts, but to the person who was asking about increasing the font size on the Add-ons panel for TGS (Here's the screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/j58zTTr.png), you can try creating a new user style with Stylem or add the following code to your userChrome.css file:

Code: Select all

@-moz-document url-prefix("about:addons") {
  .name {
    font-size: 1.2em;
  }

  .version {
    font-size: 1.2em;
  }
}
Just tweak the values after (font-size) to adjust the size of the text labels for the add-on name and version.
