Amazon return an item failure - no radio buttons

Using Pale Moon 34.3.1 x64 on Windows 8.1. Amazon.com works generally well on PM. I can place orders just fine. The only problem is when I try to return one or more items in an order with multiple items. Amazon presents radio buttons (light gray circle, filled with white, on a white background) to select which item I want to return. PM doesn't render the radio buttons. I can't do it blindly because Amazon provides no tooltip and the cursor doesn't change when I hover the mouse over the button. I am not using ad or script blocking.

I would appreciate it if other PM users confirm whether they have the same problem with PM. You need an Amazon account where you have an order with multiple items in it. You don't need to complete the return -- just see if the radio buttons work for selecting an item to return.

This particular PM problem on Amazon has been happening for at least a year. Previously, my work-around was to use Firefox 115 ESR, which is the latest version supported by Mozilla on Windows 8.1. But today I tried it and it now has the same problem as PM.

I was able to complete the Amazon return today on Waterfox 6.6.5 (installed on MX Linux), which is based on Firefox 140 ESR. That is how I could see the colors I describe above for the radio buttons. On Windows, Waterfox only supports Windows 10 and later. I could put Windows 10 on my new PCs, but I don't want to spend months learning how to make it secure and private given the end of support and the 2011 Secure Boot certs expiring at the end of June.

For me, PM is very important to my security and privacy strategy. I would really appreciate it if PM could resolve this one (little?) issue on Amazon.

Especially seeing as you have a privacy setup, posting your "Tools > Developer Tools > Error Console" and the copy-paste from "about:support" would help narrow down the issue.

Cannot try your case, but when placing orders, at the moment of payment, where I have to add a "new credit card" (since I use virtual one-shot cards and never store them, this is routine for me) the button to add a new card does not appear in PM and I have to use some Chrome-like browser.

I'm using the GTK3 version of Pale Moon on MX Linux 25.2. MX is a modified Debian distro.

It could also be that eMatrix is having a positive effect on Amazon by blocking some element that is getting in the way of showing the product return buttons. You could try a default install of eMatrix on your new profile, unblock the 1st party amazon.com, the media-amazon.com and the ssl-images-amazon.com domains like I have in my screenshot here, and see if you get a better result.

I use different versions of Pale Moon on different systems. This current system has the Steve Pusser Pale Moon for MX, and it's working on Amazon. Yesterday I was on a different machine with a self-built version of Pale Moon which was also working on Amazon.

I doubt those Error Console messages are the direct cause of the missing return-selection buttons. They look to me like Amazon telemetry/performance/fingerprinting warnings.

One possible cause could be that a page zoom setting or Windows DPI scaling pushes the radio controls off-screen or clips them. Try decreasing DPI scaling or page zooming and see if the controls move back on screen.
