I'm using the latest Palemoon 34.3.0.1 on Linux Mint XFCE normally with nmatrix and UBO, although I have turned both off to see if they are causing the issue.
I go to nationalrail.co.uk and "Plan Your Journey" and then click in the "Departing From" box. A pop up opens allowing me to type in a station name e.g. "London" and a "Going to" station e.g. "Manchester". On typing in the first few characters of the station names everything becomes very, very slow; on earlier versions of Palemoon (those released several months ago?) and on other browsers (e.g. Waterfox) entering names is much faster. I can't see anything in the error console, but something appears to be wrong seriously slowing down Palemoon.

Can you open palemoon from a terminal, and run it on that site until you hit the problem, then close it after a bit and post any messages from the terminal here in code tags?

I'm also on Linux Mint Xfce, and it works fine for me. That's with ematrix and ublock enabled.

I followed your directions and it is slow, but not too slow. I also tried it wth uBlock Origin 1.16.6.1 disabled and enabled and it was about the same speed with both of those settings.
