smwcentral.net "Enable JavaScript and cookies to continue"

Post by Kalops » 2026-03-29, 21:39

Seems like a Cloudflare problem. Neither of these things should be disabled as far as I can tell.

Code: Select all

Error: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul : Unable to run script because scripts are blocked internally.

The error message makes little sense. Scripts should not be blocked internally in the browser itself. The site loads for me, without issue (cloudflare challenge then leading to the site screenshotted below)
Please provide the information from help -> troubleshooting information (use the button "Copy text to clipboard" and paste it in your reply).

The site loads for me as well without any problems after the Cloudflare challenge.

At the time of this posting I am using 64 bit (GTK2) linux Pale Moon 34.1.0 running in 64 bit MX Linux 25.1 (Infinity) Xfce. This also include enabling uBlock Origin 1.16.6.1 for the site.
MX Linux 25.1 (Infinity) Xfce w/Pale Moon, Waterfox, Firefox
Linux Debian 13.4 (Trixie) Xfce w/Pale Moon, Waterfox, Firefox

The problem has been resolved and it was an error on my part, so I've edited out my browser information.

You may want to pick one adblocker and one only, instead of running multiple in parallel. I suggest you remove ABPrime, EHPrime, element hiding helper for adblock plus, and adblock latitude, leaving just ublock origin.
Also, you probably don't need PaleFill any longer because afaik we currently support everything it used to provide polyfills for.

I keep ABPrime around specifically for the element hiding helper, and never really had any trouble with it. I did try disabling it before just in case and that didn't help... but it turns out it was actually uBlock that was doing it. Disabling it just for the Cloudflare check seems to have been enough to get into the website. As for Latitude, it is disabled. I did wonder about PaleFill, so thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for your help and sorry for wasting your time.

uBlock Origin has its own element picker to select items you want to block, so there's zero need for anything else.
