stoat.chat now freezes PM while attempting to load

First of all, stoat.chat never worked on Pale Moon to begin with, but with the previous build (39) I could reach the site and attempt (fail) to log in. Now, with version 34 even going to the front page freezes the browser. I had to force quit each time.

OS is Mac Catalina 10.15.7
PM version is 34.0.0

It is related. What triggered the hang here is the 1.82 MB(!) SVG graphic in the "Text channels, done right" section which has an <image> with a very large xlink:href attribute value: https://stoat.chat/_astro/chat-desel.BlZ9IcJe.svg

In fact there are multiple of these megabyte-sized SVGs in the homepage.

Makes me wonder why they won't use much smaller bitmap formats instead.
