Sample page with behavior
Most Rust docs pages seem to cause a lot of CPU load, rendering Pale Moon unresponsive. This seems to continue indefinitely, interrupted by brief periods of normal function. There does not appear to be any script activity, it happens even with scripts disabled on the site in eMatrix and script execution paused in the debugger. Nothing unexpected in the log either.
This seems to have appeared along with the recent docs UI change (most notable the search bar: from always visible on top of the page to a button on the right that opens the search field), some version after Rust 1.88.

Re: docs.rs - excessive CPU load
I do not experience any particular CPU usage, but I do have a less responsive and slower user interface.
Much like OP I also fiddled with eMatrix but the only significant change I could see was disabling CSS entirely and that gave me a fast page for obvious reasons.

Re: docs.rs - excessive CPU load
I also see high CPU usage on the example page. Not immediately after opening, but after some interaction - scrolling is enough.
Win7, pm 33.9.1 x64. Same thing on previous versions.
