intermittent error on www.atm.it

Post by Lucio Chiappetti » 2025-10-10, 16:16

The home page of the Milan transport agency ATM since this morning started to generate occasionally an internal error. There is no error in the Pale Moon error console.

If you go to the home page in Italian https://www.atm.it/it/Pagine/default.aspx on the right hand side under the screen wide top bar, you should see six panels in a vertical row. The top one (for urgent messages, on red background) is not always present. The next two are pictures about tickets and season card. The fourth should be titled "Stato Metro" (state of the underground) and report the status of the 5 metro lines.

If you go to the same page in English (select language from second link at top left) i.e. https://www.atm.it/en/Pages/default.aspx the "Metro Status" panel is the topmost in the rightmost vertical row, and is displayed normally.

On the Italian page the metro status panel is replaced by an error message which I translate
Error
Error on web part: Impossible to visualize or import a web part control or Web module in this page. Impossible to find the type or the type ia not registered as secure.
Sometimes the error goes away toggling to and fro from Italian to English and back, or reloading the page. Sometimes it persists.
BTW I have disabled uBO on the page, but the vehaviour is the same

It's coming from the server itself, nothing to do with PM (same thing happens in FF).

Thanks for confirming,
I tried chrome and it was unaffected, but tried only once. After realising the english page was unaffeced I thought it was some programming mistake on their part.
I have reported to their complaint desk yesterday.

Incidentally behaviour now seems: italian page (new) -> error; switch to english (button) -> no error ; browser Back button -> no error ; browser Reload button -> error.
Seems some sort of timeout in loading some component ? Not familiar wih aspx. Sometimes on phpbb forums "under attack" or overloaded, the content loads but the CSS does'nt.
