website Evony not functioning properly on Pale Moon

Unread post by gamer0000123 » 2025-05-19, 02:02

Good evening,
Have been using Pale Moon for 3 years daily to play an old online Flash game. EVONY. www.evony.com.
Monday of last week I started having a problem with the browser. I can log into to the game. The load time is normal. But when I click on an item in the game stops the window shows blue with no graphics. I have checked this with another browser called Puffin and this does not happen.
Pale Moon is my primary browser to play this game and I have years of time invested. Asking a review of this problem. Maybe it's something that was changed in the last update? Please assist.
I am using a laptop 1 year old with plenty of memory available. Have never had an issue like this before with Pale Moon.
I have done the troubleshooting from my end: uninstall Pale Moon and reinstall, clear cache, restart computer. Nothing has worked. Not having this problem in Puffin Browser.
Please assist.

Good evening,
With all due respect, #1 I do not know what output you are referring to. #2 - causes one continuous loop after login, load, click, blue screen, refresh, load, click, blue screen, etc. #3 - there is no error message or identification number. The behavior started a week ago. I am not the only person using Pale Moon to access this game. Please investigate.
Regards,

I do not know what output you are referring to.
Press F12 to open the developer tools, click the "console" tab.
1. click the "trash can" to clear any pre-existing console messages
2. perform the action that causes problems
3. copy the console tab's output and paste it in a reply.

There's your problem, Facebook broke their own login API.

Sir,

The facebook connection was removed at least 10 years ago. This is a game that uses the Adobe Flash plugin. I am able to play this game in the Puffin browser without this issue. I was able to play this game in this browser, which is my preferred browser for 2-3 years now and all of a sudden this problem starts last Monday/Tuesday. Something has changed VERY recently with the Pale Moon browser that is causing this dynamic. And I am asking you all to investigate. Please. Let's find out what is causing the problem.

The last update for Pale Moon was released 2025-05-06, which was a minor security update. If something changed last Monday/Tuesday, then it changed on Evony's side, since there was no update to Pale Moon at that time.
Since this requires a login to even see if it's actually using Flash (or instead some flash emulation in html5) it's difficult for us to verify.

Sir,
I update Pale Moon when prompted and I have TIME TO MONITOR my computer, not automatically.
I am informing you that there is a possible problem that started FOR ME last Monday, May 12th, with your website and your informing me that there was an security update released May 6th. Work with me here for a moment....
Could I possibly have updated my Pale Moon browser with that May 6 update on the night of May 11, 2025 and noticed a change in behavior the next day, Monday, May 12.
How about double checking that security update for any conflicts with any browser game that is running Flash to see if there is a problem?
It's your website. I'm just trying to play a game. No disrespect sir. I'm just asking for help and letting you know that Pale Moon is my browser of choice.
I can give you a login for an account on that website to test if you like to help resolve this issue.

Error, It's not "your website", meant to inflect, "it is YOUR BROWSER...." Apology.

I understand it's frustrating for you. There was, however, no major change in the browser code with this security update has touched Flash support and there hasn't been any issue reported with it otherwise.
Yes, I absolutely understand you may have installed the update later, but we can't guess at that -- we're not psychic. ;)
The more information you provide when reporting an issue, the easier it is for us to help you.

Have you tried installing the previous version of Pale Moon from https://archive.palemoon.org/palemoon/33.x/33.7.0/ and seeing if that also displays the issue? If it does then it was poor timing of both updating at the same time but still a web issue.

If someone else reading this topic has time, they could make an account and check to see if they can reproduce, and report back.

Oh Great and Powerful Moonchild !!
Thank you. Reinstalled the previous version and set it back up. We are in the money!!! The website game is functioning as usual. That's all we needed to do was talk through a solution. Thank you. Try to remember me when you do the next update. I would like to be in compliance with Pale Moon as soon as possible.
