Unread post

Going back to the original topic of web compatibility, I feel like I should say that I tried the link in the original post, and it managed to freeze the browser for minutes even though I had JavaScript, remote fonts, and remote media (Images, videos, etc) blocked by default.
It seems like whatever is causing the extreme hang is something specific to this page's use of HTML and CSS exclusively, but after viewing the page source, I can't really see what it is. It does load a lot of CSS, but nothing that looks really abnormal to me. There's a big block of CSS included in the main page to load a bunch of fonts for Cyrillic characters(I think?), but like I said, I had remote fonts blocked. The main page itself doesn't exceed 7000 lines of HTML.
Given that most of the time browser hangs seem like they're caused by excessive JavaScript (like in the case of YouTube, I've heard), this looks really weird. Importantly, this issue seems to be very unique to Pale Moon. So, the politics of the content is kind of irrelevant, because it'd be interesting to know why this is happening either way, and why it doesn't effect other browsers. Maybe there is something to be learned here that could improve Pale Moon's performance generally.
