Thanks for the EOL warning. I will set up my two newest laptops (2006) with Bionic64 or a later Ubuntu-based Puppy linux.

I attempted to send the wedding gift via Paypal, using my partner's 64-bit hardware and software. Finally we phoned Paypal and were told that this will not be allowed because the amount is larger than my ebay purchases/sales, and I should find some other way to send the gift. Also I was using new hardware, but that was apparently okay.

I found a website showing that Bionic Ubuntu will not be supported after this April, but it will remain alive for a few more years.

This is an ending.
I wonder whether the login weirdness has had to do with some fault only in the 32-bit Linux version.

That would make no sense, either, because there is no functional difference in architecture builds (or there certainly shouldn't be!)

I will set up another 32-bit laptop and install a plain punmodified Puppy Bionic32 and see how PM 32.1.0 GTK2 acts. I tried yesterday and my dream laptop (DELL 9100) refused to boot with the added, or the original, memory, even charged overnight. I have 10 more laptops to try from 2003-2004 and three 64-bit models. Thank you for all the help.

There is a new Puppy Linux Bionic32NG as of two days ago. And the 32-bit gtk Ubuntu Palemoon is not ready yet (only for Ubuntu 20).

I downloaded and installed the latest Puppy Bionic 32 NG iso. It found and swapped on the swap file. Pusser's third-party latest Palemoon 32.1.0 for Ubuntu 18 from a few days ago still would not log in. Yesterday there was only an Ubuntu 20 version. I use 18 with Puppy Bionic 32.

Today I downloaded the very latest Palemoon from Pusser's site, which now also has 4 Ubuntu 20 and 4 Ubuntu 22 versions. I installed it to NG. It has the same name as before but a different size. It took me, as usual (!!!) to the split login screen, on my 2003 non-PAE 200ARC Gateway. This time it logged in properly. I have not yet tested on a PAE-capable laptop (DELL).

NG is now three days old. Kernel 4.19 instead of 4.9. The .sfs and .iso and vmlinuz and initrd.gz are different sizes from before. Many thanks for it to Peabee at Puppy, and also to Stephen Pusser for compiling Palemoon twice in seven days. He commented it was hard keeping up. Thanks to the helpers here for steering me to the other forum discussion.

On the ARC200 with the NG Puppy and the latest PM 32.1.0 I cannot log into the Palemoon forum. (I think this also happened with previous Puppy and PM). The same password works on my DELL dv5000. I tried repeatedly. The ARC200 kept asking for a CAPTCHA. Concrete is 'stone'. I do not need to use Paypal with my 2003 non-PAE laptops.

My apologies if I scrambled any of my results.

My HP dv5000 with Puppy Bionic NG displayed a login screen asking for email but not password. My ARC200 Gateway displayed the login screen asking for both email and password and it acted as expected. Then the dv5000 suddenly stopped working with wifi and none of my spare cards are accepted. HP is fussy. The ethernet port finished dying a while back, along with USB.

On top of which my password somehow changed itself and I was able to change it to something very long but the email says to change it to the password of my choice at the profile page.

I will test with NG after changing the password to something shorter. 64-bit Puppy Bionic 32 is also on here.

Another bug? Puppy Linux 32 and 64 bit Bionic and FocalFossa, at my active listings at ebay, I click on the little square below 'Edit' and nothing happens.
I am hoping to delete a listing.

Do you mean on the forum?
Go to your user control panel (click name top-right in the page, then User Control panel)
Click the Profile" tab on top, then "Edit account settings" on the left.
The right pane will now allow you to enter a new password.
