Works fine for me (clicking the star). Also, bookmarking capabilities aren't domain-dependent. How are you trying to bookmark?

I use Fastmail. It's been years since I made the Pale Moon bookmark. Not gonna delete it to try again, but I have no reason to believe it won't work. I have made a few other bookmarks in Pale Moon in the last few months with no problem.

I use Fastmail also. I didn't have a bookmark in Pale Moon for it, so I made one, successfully. Win10 Pro 21H2, Pale Moon 64bit 31.2.0.1
(sortof offtopic)
The only problem I have seen between Pale Moon and Fastmail (web GUI) is that the light and dark themes offered by them don't work correctly. I suspect it's a chromified issue, and it matters not to me because of the Swarth add on.

Re: 31.2.0.1 [64-bit] will not make bookmark for fastmail.com
I've had a bookmark to fastmail.com set for last 2 months: https://www.fastmail.com/
Still working this morning... deleted existing bookmark to test... new bookmark set completely normally
(Used 'Bookmark This Page' option at top of the Bookmarks Drop-down menu/list... Bookmark Star removed from my Url Bar)
PS. If interested - The tiny CSS script needed to remove/hide the Bookmark Star in Url Bar:

Re: 31.2.0.1 [64-bit] will not make bookmark for fastmail.com
thank you, all.
i had been using osing 'bookmatk this page'
from the dropdown menu under 'bookmarks'
the problem went away, leaving a puzzle:
when i returned to the browser page after posting
here, i found a bookmark for fastmail...
i've been fooliing around with computers for decades,
made all kinds of mistakes and seen a few things
that were plain weird. apologies for the false alarm.
cheers, mm

Yes, it's called "new users are put in the moderation queue". That fact is also clearly marked when you post something.
