Unsupported browser message since 31.2.0.1 update

Unread post by gi_jimbo » 2022-08-09, 00:16

I've run into the following message on a number of sites today (well, 2 anyways but the message is presented identically).
"Unfortunately, your browser is unsupported. Please switch to a supported browser to view rich content, log in and reply."
The message shows up in the top of the browser window on a yellowish background.
I know there were a couple of updates recently so I'm not totally sure which one the messages started to show up with but I'd say it's been within the past 3 or 4 days.

Try changing the user agent string to latest Firefox or Chrome and see what happens.
You can do it with add-ons like sasuga or PermissionPlus, which let you change without impacting other sites as that might cause further breakage somewhere else.

Given how the site reacted initially, I never expected a UA change to work, but it did.
