Endless buffering trying to load specific site (Todoist)

Unread post by cathteg » 2022-01-21, 19:41

Moderator note: moved to Web Compat board.

Hi, this is very specific I know, but does anyone use Todoist? I've been using it fine for ages, but as of two days ago, it just stopped loading in PM. I thought it might be because I was using an old version of PM (couldn't bear to lose some add-ons but all good things must end), so I updated, but it's still not working. I cleared it from the cache and re-logged in, restarted, all that rot, but trying to actually load my list just results in an endless swirling little buffer wheel. It also didn't help to disable add-ons. The site works fine in Opera, which I'm using more and more alongside PM these days.

I'm one of those so-called 'normal users' who can only mess with things while following an explicit guide, so tbh I have no idea how to begin figuring out what is wrong. Has anyone else had a similar problem (with this site or another) and come up with a fix other than 'use a different browser'? Ta very much.

Not that I know of? It could be, but it doesn't say so.

Gooble

Looks like some unsupported API as usual.
@OP - have you tried opening the site on a fresh profile? Keep one handy to test broken sites and instantly figure whether it's a problem with the browser itself or with your setup (extensions/adblockers/configuration changes).

Type about:profiles in a new tab and from that screen you can click a button to create a new profile. After following the wizard steps, it will show up in the list along with your current profile and you can click 'launch profile in a new browser' to open it in a new browser window for testing.

I'm not the OP, but I tried it for him/her anyway. Got a bigger message from the console this time:

And there we have it :(
Another regexp parser error. Until the feature is implemented, we'll see more of these.

Thank you both for the advice and for checking it! Looks like I'll just be using it in Opera for a while. Appreciate the help. :)
