If you do that (moving emails to spam), won't that put the email addresses on a block list? Or at the very least future emails from those addresses will arrive in the spam folder?

I don't know, but I'm not sure it matters (to me at least). I can still find them there. Better for me than running Chromium or Fox just to delete messages.

Re: bug with Protonmail
update: Once you disable modals with butWhyMod, you don't need to move them to Spam. Just go to a different folder, then back to Trash and Delete Permanently works (until the next change!:))

Re: bug with protomail
Yeah, they changed the code, and I have the problem now. Cannot empty the Trash Can. Also cannot send a trouble report to ProtonMail thru my ProtonMail address when I am logged on. Get grayed-out screen in both instances when try to perform operation. Sent ProtonMail a bug report from outside my email account on 11Jan22.martinw2 wrote: ↑2021-12-31, 17:13Hi, thanks for all the suggestions. Protonmail sent me a reply saying they had been able to replicate the problem and had passed it to their developers to fix on the next update to protonmail. So for now I have to continue with using firefox for their email system. At least they acknowledge there is an issue with their scripts.

Web Console on the ProtonMail 'Trash Page' shows multiple 'link errors' and 'type errors' in 'asm.js'. ProtonMail is at 4.0.13
As usual we run Win7 SP1 x64 or Win 8.1 x64; nothing hanging off P M other that uBO and Pale Moon Commander.
Win 8.1 x64 or x32, Win 7 SP1 x64. Nothing hanging on Pale Moon except uBO and P M Commander.
Re: bug with protomail
Update - which may be of assistance.
Tried a previous version of ProtonMail today and 'emptying the Trash Can' problem is not there. We will assume that the inability to report a bug while logged into one's email account is also not present in the previous version.
A previous version of ProtonMail is accessible by choosing same from the bottom of the log in screen. Previous version = 3.16.67. Current version stated on login screen = 4.09, but once logged in version 4.0.13 shows in lower left of email 'home' screen! This discrepancy is not present in v3.16.67 Who knows!!

Re: bug with protomail
Thanks for reminding me about the old version. It indeed does work correctly there. I like it better also; it loads a lot faster. It seems that today how a website looks is more important than how good it works.
Re: bug with protomail
Anybody else getting the feeling this ain't going to be fixed? I mean, how long does it take to fix what I assume to be a scripting issue?
Re: bug with protomail
I do not think Proton Mail will fix the problem. They seem too lazy to look at at. I sent them another email a few days ago, asking if I was being ignored. They finally sent a reply on 21Jan22, with the usual canned answers; (1) clear the cache, (2) change browsers. I told them today to send the problem to the &*@#! who coded the JS.
I dumped Proton Mail as primary 3 years ago for security issues and the ease in which Proton Mail gave data to 'authorities'. They are not subject to GDPR. But, this is not the place to discuss that subject. I still have an account obviously, but I think I have moved everything out of there.

I don't use Proton Mail much at all. I use their VPN service more. Not much more..

Re: bug with protomail
I've gotten some positive vibes with Vivaldi Webmail and Pale Moon.

Re: bug with protomail
I didn't know Vivaldi had webmail. Vivaldi is my backup browser. I just wonder how quick they would work to fix any future problems on Pale Moon, a competing browser. I'm not sure that is something I'd be willing to take a chance on.somdcomputerguy wrote: ↑2022-01-22, 21:41I've gotten some positive vibes with Vivaldi Webmail and Pale Moon.

I didn't know that either until I started using the browser more. The only perplexing issue is that I can't seem to save contacts in the address book. It's not only 'web' mail either, one can use a local client as well.

Gmail with Interlink. I haven't used or even missed their web interface for years. I'd say pick a service that offers POP/IMAP and use a regular email client.

Re: bug with protomail
Doesn't protonmail offer IMAP/POP3?
Honestly, I always considered webmail to be a crutch, if you are on a temporary system and must access your mail. I'd never want to use it as my main way of doing e-mail, myself.

Re: bug with protomail
I think it does.
I tried using Interlink once, but I was too dumb trying to figure out how to link it to my email, and couldn't find any online tutorials written in layman's English.
Re: bug with protomail
@ron_1
Interlink is a client, not a service like one moonbat suggested.
As for ProtonMail it seems that it doesn't offer POP/IMAP.

Re: bug with protomail
Proton does offer mail server access for clients, but not with their free service.

Re: bug with protomail
That's understandable. Mail client access won't give them ad revenue which they can get from a webmail interface. Running their service does cost money, you know?somdcomputerguy wrote: ↑2022-01-23, 16:32Proton does offer mail server access for clients, but not with their free service.
