This may be just 2 coincidences, but the problem SEEMS to be gone on my end. Maybe Google is actually doing something about it. Maybe.

It's gotten worse for me. Now comments don't even load at all. Something I recall happening a few years back as well. I'll make a thread about it if I get frisky.

Unfortunately, I cannot say it's gone on mine. I just tried, but my test comment vanished as usual...

Is this IMDb Message Board backup/archive considered complete? Looks pretty nice.

update: looks like you can actually continue posting - sort of a seamless continuation of the old boards
Very cool , thanks for sharing.

Agree, but managed way back in the beginning to use a fake name for Facebook and so far, can post, if I feel like it (seldom).
For some reason, I really don't think that alone would stop FB from tracking people and collecting their very real data.

But again, it may be just my paranoia.

The FBI may know it is me who's posting. But the average user won't.
EDIT: some comments of mine are still auto-deleted in seconds. And some stay.

I think we had already long since established that this is a generic youtube problem. It's pointless to still make posts now confirming the problem, it's already been confirmed many times over.

You should have read the entire thread before deciding to post.
If you had, you would have known.

I used to post substantive comments in response to YouTube videos about healthcare-reform policy and politics when a curious thing happened: around a month and a half ago, I stopped getting any replies. And then I discovered something even more curious: I see all of my comments when I'm signed in to YouTube and revisit a given video in Pale Moon, but when I visit the same page in Brave, where I don't sign in and where I'm presumably difficult to fingerprint, my comments are nowhere to be found. The comment counts are the same in both browsers, but my comments are just not there. It would appear that YouTube lets me post comments and displays them to me, when it knows that it's me who's looking, but to no one else. Interesting. I've come up with a few hypotheses for this sneaky form of censorship, but honestly, I suspect it would take a barrage of subpoenas to get a partially honest explanation out of Alphabet/Google/YouTube.

I've also noticed the comment count increments when I make a comment that seemingly goes into the ether.

That was my guess as well, but then it became clear it's mostly my browser. A select few comments stay and don't go anywhere. Also replies I make on MY videos stay. I theorize this is an AI that was made to protect the tender feelings of YTbers from "toxic comments", and that AI is stupid enough to think your browser choice alone is enough to make you SUS. I think the only way to speed up the solution is for more people to get loud about it (elsewhere).

YouTube has received ALOT of complaints about disappearing comments from what looks like a broad swathe of viewers and channel owners, and say they're looking into it.

See YouTube community help "comments" subject area,
and in particular this sticky thread posted by YT staff: "Recent Reports of Missing Comments"
(unfortunately, you'll need to use a mainstream browser to see more than the first page)

It isn't an exclusive issue with us but I bet it is a considered factor when it does happen. Aside from Domestic Terrorism by White Supremacists and anyone who questions anything.

I think it's just broken "A.I."; whether that is broken "on purpose" to shadow ban/outright censor some non-mainstream browsers/users/groups/content or not, I don't know. But it's clearly not working as it should for the service provided.

As of late, some comments go through. Considering I barely post because of the issue, this is a huge improvement on Google's part.

I don't see how going from "almost certainly going to delete my comments I spend time and effort on" to "it may or may not be deleing my comments I spend time and effort on" could be called a "huge improvement". It's still broken. Just broken in a slightly less consistent way.

Well i just registered to post about it and looks like i am not crazy after all.

No comments whatsoever are posted. It looks very similar to how shadow banning works. It appears visible for the viewing session but is gone soon after.
Any chance we could fool it and make our beloved browser to wear the proverbial sheep clothing and attempt to look like some other browser ?
