cannot download Dell security software

Hello friends of Pale Moon,

in a recent security advice, the computer manufacturer Dell recommends customers to use a special utility to remove a critical driver from affected systems like mine:

This utility should be found via this link: https://www.dell.com/support/home/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=DF8CW.

When I use Pale Moon (v. 29.2.0, 64 bit, German locale) to do this, however, I only get a dead-end message:

This is the case even when I run Pale Moon in a "virgin" profile and in safe mode.

With Microsoft's browser Edge, on the other hand, I am redirected to a page with a download button whereI can get the recommended utility:

As a consequence, I cannot keep my machine secure, when I use the browser Pale Moon.
Is there a possibility to change this behaviour of Pale Moon or does Dell really urge me to use another browser than my favorite, just to get their hardware up-to-date?

Can you post the link that leads to this one, i.e. the main page for the driver you're looking for?

As I wrote in my post, the site with the download button has this URL:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/de-de/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=DF8CW
but with Pale Moon, you end in the useless message.

With Edge you get a page with a download button, and when you click it, you can download this file:

Works For Me^TM. When I click on "Click here to Continue" it takes me to the details page, where I can click on a Download button, and download starts properly.

Just tried using a fresh profile and using the link the OP provided. It still works for me.

Ah, one thing I forgot to mention - PM in Firefox compatibility mode.

Useragent doesn't seem to be an issue here. Just tried Gecko Compatibility and Native. Both still works.

Maybe try clearing your cache and cookie for that website?

thank you for our suggestions, but for me nothing changes something. Here is what I tried:
running a new profile
running in safe mode
clearing cache and cookies
changing compatibility to Firefox, Native and Gecko.

In each of these cases, I indeed can open the website https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/de-de/000186019/dsa-2021-088-dell-client-platform-security-update-for-dell-driver-insufficient-access-control-vulnerability, but on that site a click on the link https://www.dell.com/support/home/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=DF8CW only leads to the white/blue error message with the "dead" button ("click here to continue").

Did you also accept the cookie dialog with "agree"?

Seems they require their cookies to present you with (a terrible mix of) localization.

I think you are on the right track, moonchild: In normal mode I did not see the "agree" button on down left corner, but with Pale Moon in safe mode I realize it, and when I click on it, the blue button ("click to continue") suddenly is functioning and leads me to the download page. Now I will start again in normal mode and be aware of the down left corner.

okay, moonchild: after I read your hint I realized the "second" agree-button which comes up in the down left corner after I clicked the "first" "allow cookies-button", but even then the blue "continue" button only leads into nirvana. Since in safe mode everything is fine (as long as I click on all cookie buttons), I think I have to check my extensions one after the other.

If you are still here then you clearly didn't try a new profile (which by definition does NOT have any extensions)...
