Much of the Site seems to function, except for the "Message Center". Please see screenshots for Errors and info reported. Sorry if this is too much info, but it is included in case it is needed, as (I hope ) one would have to have an account to reach the Message Center. I apologize for the long scroll, but am failing to get "Hide" to work as desired.

Aside from some errors which likely prevent a bunch of code to be actually executed, I doubt it would work regardless as it uses web components.

You'd think it's strange for a government agency to use this kind of technologies, since they are supposed to be as accessible as possible (being government agencies and all) and web components aren't exactly the prince of accessibility, but then again, I've visited websites for local (to me) agencies which display a huge banner about cookies only to set absolutely no cookies except the one to never show the banner again, so poor coding isn't exactly unheard of.

Thank you for your reply vannilla, and your diagnosis, even though it is all bad news. Yes, like you say, such access limitations are uncalled for. There are so many steps to take to even try and tighten-up Fx to not make undesired 3rd-party calls, that it is only used now in these types of situations. Thanks, again!

@BobbyP or @Vannilla; did either of you report this problem to the webmaster at ssa.gov? I do not think I am knowledgeable enough to do so. Bottom of page after you sign in has 'Accessibility Help'. Following that leads one to address in bottom right corner. I realize that SSA is talking about physical impairments, but maybe they might listen.

I had not, until just now. Perhaps they will do more than regurgitate their list of "compatible" browsers, though

as Tobin reminds us, the ever increasing entwining of "Big Tech" and government is much, much less than encouraging, for many things, even more important than browser choice.
