Sorry, forgot to mention another, minor issue:

Here's how a particular prompt appears on FF:
Fritz FF.png
You'll notice there's something missing on PM:
Fritz PM.png
Also, both OK/Cancel buttons will behave as OK on PM. There's nothing on the Error Console, except for this below which appears during log off so probably not related to this prompt. This is also reported to them.

Warning: Content Security Policy: Ignoring ‘x-frame-options’ because of ‘frame-ancestors’ directive.

The checkbox on FF means that on FF it has already spawned a previous dialog. Pale Moon has the same functionality for repeated dialogs (to prevent evil trap sites from locking you into a dialog loop). So that's normal depending on what you did previously.

As for how the buttons "behave" that's entirely up to Fritz too. They probably assume Chrome-clone behaviour in their "updated" firmware across the board.

You are right, I made a mistake. The 'Prevent' checkbox will also appear on Pale Moon accordingly. The OK/Cancel issue will hopefully be analysed by them.

3. A link to their next update? I cannot link to the future.
Nope, they are just ignoring this issue. Today I got Fritz!OS 7.26 (released 2 days ago) on my Fritz!Box 7490. The problem still persists.

Anyway, I was able to fix it some other way by using Greasemonkey (Stylish would also work but I don't have that installed). You may need to adjust the @include line however. The styling doesn't look like the original should but at least it works.
Thanks a lot for that! It works for me, too! :clap:

By the way, the Fritz!OS interface does not run on the latest Internet Explorer 11 either, which gives AVM the lie that only "current" browsers are supported. What AVM does is clearly proprietary and illegal. As Moonchild has correctly explained. But it's also no secret how I feel about AVM and their development. Sadly, there is no better router in Europe in terms of price/performance, feature set and ease of use.

I found that my Asus RT-N66U beats just about everything in terms of price/performance and ease of use. Not sure what feature set Fritzbox has that would be different but I'm certainly not missing anything even for my advanced needs. (and I've had it for.... quite a few years now. rock solid performer)
Also, firmware updates don't break my use of it, and I can roll back if it would ever become necessary.

This is the latest reply that I got from AVM (April 19th):

I have assumed her concern of my colleague Mr Kirst for further processing and forwarded its feedback and information for further analysis to the development department in our house. As soon as I find new insights or further questions about the behavior you observed, I will contact you again.

If, from the analysis of your data, a direct solution through a change in the FRITZ! OS will result in a solution in one of the upcoming updates.

@Loppetz the latest update to 7.27 neither fixed the issue nor is the GM script working anymore.

Edit:

Scrap that, it did. But there is a bug in GM.
  • I deactivated GM to check if the issue was fixed.
  • It was not so I reactivated GM but the issue still occured.
  • I had to restart Pale Moon.
  • Now it works again.

I can confirm there's nothing related to this issue in the 7.27 update. The fix by Loppetz still works fine.

That's not a bug. You have to refresh the page for script enable/disable to take effect. No need to restart Pale Moon.

Well, of course I refreshed the page. The first I did. It did not work.
That's why I'm curious.

After upgrading to latest firmware all tickboxes are missing and disfunctional.
Exactly the same problem occurred in an earlier version of FRITZ!OS some years ago (can't remember which version it was). The problem disappeared again in a later version.

Add in Profiles/chrome a file "userContent.css" with following content:

Code: Select all

@-moz-document domain(fritz.box) {

.mainContent input[type="checkbox"], .mainContent input[type="radio"]
{
	height: auto!important;
	width: auto!important;
}

}

after countless mails, AVM realized where the/their problem lies and answered
avmfb.png
google translation:
In the radio buttons / checkboxes we have considered various solutions and no worked so well on all browsers as the currently used.
In our focus, however, the "Big Player" Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari and their mobile modifications are available.
Unfortunately, we can not provide timely adaptation here, but keep the topic on the screen and will take account of the CSS for future changes.

It's ther same kind of people who provide user-agent-discrimination without even knowing or understanding what that means after explaining it to them.
