Key Bank, Pale Moon, and Firefox
Starting Wed./Thu., I'm getting this message when I click on the Sign On button on Key Bank's site:
I didn't know there was a difference between Firefox and Mozilla Firefox.
However, when I click on the 'back arrow' it shows me a login screen and then I'm allowed to log in. With Chredge and UnGoogled-Chromium I'm allowed to log in normally. I've put UG-C on my machine, at least temporarily, to have a backup when I absolutely can't use anything but Firefox or a Chromium product on a website.
Don't know that I expect anybody here to do anything about it. It's just another step down the road, I guess.

Yeah this just happened and it is both a UA issue but also a technological incompatibility.
But seeing as the system is down perhaps they are gonna work on a fallback or something. Key Bank thus far has escaped most jslib poison even with their shiny new website service.. But we shall see.

Re: Key Bank, Pale Moon, and Firefox
I find it quite odd the prompt says and I'm paraphrasing: "Firefox is no longer an option so a different browser is needed" such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and............wait for it.............."Mozilla Firefox".
If Firefox is no longer an option, why is it being recommended?

It is confused. Maybe I need a new bank once I more than likely move to Texas at the end of the year.

I think a little tongue in cheek kidding is in order.New Tobin Paradigm wrote: ↑2021-03-11, 12:04Maybe I need a new bank once I more than likely move to Texas at the end of the year.
If you're thinking about moving to Texas and if you're coming from a "blue" state, should I alert Governor Abbott about your plan to move to our "red" state?

Texas is a large state. It has many different climates too. The "Hill Country" of central Texas is beautiful and scenic. Since I love the saltwater environment so much and most of my hobbies are geared to it (sup surfing, prone surfing, saltwater kayaking, fishing, etc) I live in a small rural town in the piney woods of southeast Texas about 108 miles from the Gulf of Mexico (Surfside, TX). This is just far enough way from the coast so any hurricanes which come ashore quickly lose most of their punch wind wise when they reach my home if we are in their cone of travel. And this is the sole reason I chose to live where I live.
When Hurricane Ike came ashore in 2008, the eye of the hurricane was just 30 miles to the east of my home. The wind was steady at 55 mph at my home with wind gusts to 65 mph. My home had no wind damage from that storm.

Indiana is considered a red state like Texas is so you'd becoming to a well managed and run state. But there is one thing Texas does not have, but Indiana does have. Indiana has a state income tax which off the top of my head is 3%. Texas has no state income tax so you get to keep more of you money in your pocket. Gasoline is cheaper too. Right now, our oil refineries are getting back into high gear from that severe cold snap we had over Valentines which crippled them. I got gas last week and it was $2.15/gallon.
One last item, apartment and rent houses are cheaper in a red rural country than in a blue county and those blue counties are where the big cities are (Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, etc). Austin is probably the most expensive blue county city to live in.
The main drawback is the weather depending on what part of Texas you live in.
A month ago around Valentines, it got down to 6 degrees F at my home. Today, the high temperature is forecast to reach 82 degrees F (Spring like) at my home. From May to the end of October, that is our Summer months (90 degrees F and above for daily highs). Our Fall month is November. And Winter is from December to mid March.

Indiana sales tax is 7%. I am also aware of all that. I would miss the whole Indiana weather thing but fact is at the end of the year my apartment complex will significantly hike my rent again for the third time past what I can reasonably afford so I will be moving in with a friend someone who is from Texas but lived up here for a long while and I went to school with and actually lived with for a year and a half back in the mid 2000s when I went to community college for a bit.
In 2014 I moved from little one stoplight town of Greentown (which I never liked since we moved there in 2000) to Kokomo and it did me a lot of good eventually leading me here so I suspect getting out of Indiana all together would open up more oppertunities for me.
Not to memtion there aren't a lot of choices left and little tieing me here. Sure it will kinda suck to leave most of my stuff behind due to limited space in a car but I will have my computer which is all that is critical to my requirements.

looks like their 'browser recognition' is faulty...what version/ type of FF are you using?? (ESR / nightly / standard ) Or you ID PM as FF, and it gets really confused...:/

Re: Key Bank, Pale Moon, and Firefox
That is what I said. And it is bullshit anyway because I was able to get it to allow login by hitting back a couple of times preventing the redirect.
Their feature detection and fallback for the missing newer functionality works perfectly BUT the old and insecure message is literal lies.
I will get a new bank in Texas once I move there.. I am very unhappy with Key for pulling this. Chalk it up to the monoculture war.
