That particular page causes a desktop freeze (on my Linux system) which I can only get out of (most times) by ctrl alt F6 until that works and sigkill palemoon from there, same in a clean profile, page works in Chromium.
This isn't a general "github" issue which works OK, just that page. I don't really care about that page either, I've read it in Chromium now, just letting you know it's effects.

It's a problem with the page.
My guess is that they have something animating that kills performance and puts a lot of work into the rendering, effectively blocking everything else.

Despite the scrolling animating looks more shaky than on a Chomium-based browser, I've no issues with loading or reading the pages of that subdomain.
I guess this is just GitHub being GitHub again.
