I barely use the chat so I could live with this, but it is still something that can be fixed.

This used to be an occasional annoyance that would be fixed with a reload, but now it's here to stay.

It's when a video is first streamed, then archived. The chat is available for as long as the stream is live. Here is a page that featured a chat:

That's google blocking chat arbitrarily.
If we indicate we are a "newer Firefox" than what we say we are, then they want to use WebComponents we don't support. So there's no way around this. Google refuses to show chat to "older" browsers. we can't tell them we are "newer" because then they will treat us to chrome-specific technology that Firefox copied but we don't have yet.

So if you want youtube with chat you'll need to use a Chrome-based browser.

You can also use FreeTube if you want to view YouTube videos/streams with a live chat. You cannot participate in the live chat if you use FreeTube for that purpose, but you can view it.

Also, a little note on Google discrimination. Sadly, with the small userbase, I don't think many care what happens to this browser. Who cares when you can just DOWNLOAD BRAVE, am I right?

I'm worried that, in spite of future WebComponents support in UXP, Google and their affiliates will block any browser with a UXP user agent (Pale Moon, Basilisk) even if it has WebComponents support.

For what it's worth - if you're only interested in viewing the video and not chat/comments, PMPlayer can play the video in a popup window since it just relies on using an embed, and so far they haven't screwed with that (and it supports several other video sites as well, including Peertube). If I want to watch something outside a browser, I just use MPV.
