GitLab non-functional in PM 28.12.0

Unread post by sugis » 2020-08-21, 16:06

As of this morning (it worked yesterday) GitLab stopped working. I would guess it is due to a JavaScript change on their end, but do not have direct evidence of such.

To reproduce without requiring a GitLab account, use the Explore page: https://gitlab.com/explore
This page renders fine in Chrome 84.0.4147.135 (Official Build) (64-bit) but the main content area displays nothing in Pale Moon 28.12.0, rendering the site unusable.

I verified this in temporary safe mode to rule out addon issues. GitLab support would not engage, stating that PM is not supported.
I did some basic diagnostics: check Console output for JS errors, failed requests, etc - but I was not able to find any log lines or errors. Thank you for any assistance.

I tried disabling CSP in about:config and this removes the error but does not appear to make the page work any better.

It's some CSS madness.
Probably some script that fails to set up the thing correctly. If you open up the dev console, search for the content div and disable its CSS, stuff appears althoug all messed up.

We used GitLab at my last job. This would have been a huge issue for me a year ago. I hope GitLab sorts their shit out soon.

Just a couple of days. Someone must've goofed up in production.

No, Tobin meant "for how long will it remain fixed".

Does the "Add reaction" pop-up work for you? Shows nothing inside here. Tried a few user-agent overrides, didn't help. Tried the github.com override just in case too, since they offer a "sign in with GitHub" option (which I use).

update: the actual reaction boxes/icons also do not appear as expected.

Example - (a 'like" icon should be next to the 1 number)

SO it worked for a month. Yay for Agile "development" breaking shit every two to four weeks.
