Pale Moon Version 28.8.3

I used to not have any trouble with Pale Moon and the web site Pixls.us

Lately, every time I try to respond to a message there, I cannot get an active cursor and therefore cannot type a response in the box.

I switched over to Chrome and had no problem whatsoever.

Did you actually click on the reply box beforehand.?..Sometimes these boxes can have a substantial delay before cursor appears.

Is there a way for someone to actually test this reply box to see what's going on without being forced to create an account?

I am not going to create an account for that site, but I would suggest the OP update the Pale Moon to it's current version, (28.9.3) since the OP is using an old version, (28.8.3).

I have just installed the latest update and the problem is still there; no response in the Pixls.us text box whatsoever.

Like I already stated, I did not have this problem a few months ago.

Do you get any errors in web console when you try to focus or type in the box? Clear any existing errors before performing your steps.

With either Chrome or Firefox, I don't even have to click inside the box to have a typing cursor; I just click "Reply" and the box opens with a flashing cursor, ready to type; with Pale Moon, no amount of clicking will produce any action in the box.

So that CSP rule blocks their own tracking/analytics script -- without which it may break.
You can test by temporarily disabling CSP rule processing (set security.csp.enable to false). If that fixes it, then you should write the webmasters and ask them to fix their content security policy.
(don't forget to re-enable CSP after testing)

In a new tab, type about:config in the addressbar to open the browser's internal settings. Click through the warning displayed, and then in the search bar provided top type security.csp.enable to locate that setting. Toggle it to false by either doubleclicking it, or rightclicking and selecting Toggle from the menu that appears. After you're done testing, rightclick it again and select Reset.

I followed the instructions (Thanks) and did the suggested test; I tried several times and came at it from several different angles and could never get a typing cursor in the text box.

I have just tried my newly installed Pale Moon on my newly installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.3 machine and had no better luck than with Pale Moon in Windows 7

FireFox on the Linux machine worked.

When I click on the reply box a login window is appearing where you must to complete the username and password. There are and other options to login with Facebook, google..etc. The cursor is active and I can type whatever username or password.
I tried autentification with the google account and is working

I can do that as well; it is the reply to a post text box that is not working for me.

Tried it without disabling CSP, logged in with Oauth using Github. The site uses a self hosted Discourse forum, no 3rd party scripts, and I can type within the comment box - but the cursor remains invisible.

The cursor is invisible indeed but you can type the reply as you see in the screenshot. I posted a reply but is in waiting for moderators approval.

OK I had a look myself. you can get the cursor by clicking outside of the text box and then clicking the textbox again.
I've seen the same behaviour on GitHub in comments, but I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is with the cursor not being displayed if focus is given to an input element via scripting the way these frameworks do.

Thanks for that !

I have just tried it and it works for me = click "Reply" then click an area not in the text box and the cursor appears and I can type my message.

I may never have figured out that simple solution myself.

I can live with clicking outside the box so long as I remember to do it.

Thanks to everyone for helping me on this.
