I have hardware acceleration turned off in my 64 bit linux Pale Moon 33.9.1 (GTK2) and I have no problems with Amazon.
Years of experience have taught me that hardware acceleration is a good way to bake your processor while throttling anything you are trying to display and nothing else. When it is so painfully, patently bad, it leaves me to wonder why it exists.

As an experiment, with what Moonchild said regarding "hardware acceleration" linux distros, I am going to re-enable HA for a period of time and see what transpires/happens with my distro of choice; MX Linux. I'm guessing a good test for HWA is when I am visiting YouTube since I watch a lot of videos on there.

Video acceleration and compositor acceleration are two entirely different things, so one isn't necessarily a good indicator for the other.

And with the above said, this is why you are the power user and I, alas, am not. But I will leave HWA enabled for awhile and "see how it goes" mileage wise.

don't really think it's a big part. My workstation isn't super powerful by any stretch (but it's no museum piece, of course) and it has no real issue with Amazon, and as stated I disabled my ad blocker on amazon domains to prevent undesired blocking of amazon "ads" on amazon itself ;)

Well if it works for you, sure.

I just know some websites are heavy and I can't think of an easier way to slow down a computer than getting hit with lots of bloated ads.

I wonder though, about the stats of your workstation, processor type, processor gen, cores, RAM, etc...

Reason being, desktops tend to move faster than laptops if I recall correctly.

Up to you if you want to enlighten me, but i would be interested

Amazon has added a bunch of new security type stuff that make it harder to get to the functional pages. had to allow some new domains this morning. Then tonight, a whole bunch more, and solve 5 puzzles that at first made no sense. All of this just to check order status. These corporations are totally nuts if they think treating customers this way is acceptable.
