Amazon getting harder to browse with Pale Moon

So as the subject title says, Amazon is getting harder to use with Pale Moon. It hasn't been 100% good for a while but was always usable. However, for the last week it has definitely gotten worse. The scrolling is very choppy, and sometimes when loading 2 or 3 tabs (all of Amazon) the tabs will "freeze" momentarily, much longer than I'd prefer. I tried switching from Gecko compatibility to Firefox, but that didn't help. The only thing new is that I went from Devuan 5 to Devuan 6, but that was about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have done a reinstalled of Devuan 6. I can't remember if I browsed Amazon in between installs of Devuan 6 or not. I don't see what that would have to do with it, but the timing is suspect. Any ideas?

After reading your post, I opened up a tab and went to Amazon. I had no problem getting to Amazon and even surfed around on the site in their computer section. But since I do not have an Amazon account, I was not logged in either.

At this time I am using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 33.9.1 (GTK2) running in 64 bit MX Linux 25 (Infinity) Xsce with uBlock Origin 1.16.6.1 enabled for Amazon.

So I tried it on a Chromium browser, and it worked. I just tried it again--same result. Using Pale Moon, Amazon.com tells me the password is wrong. Using Chromium, the password works, and I'm logged on to my account.

It may be that a lack of coders isn't the problem. If Pale Moon's technical foundation/makeup simply isn't compatible with whatever changes Amazon.com or anybody else has to make to their websites to remain compatible with Chromium, then I guess all the coders in the world wouldn't solve the problem.

Is it possible that one day, for all practical purposes, no non-Chromium browser will work at all?

I doubt it. I'm on Linux myself. It's strange that some say they have no or little problems, and for others it's unusable.

So far nobody has made any remarks about the errors I posted. I wonder if any of them are relevant to the issue.

No problems here. It did take quite some time to properly configure and fine-tune eMatrix and uBO (mostly the former), but it was worth it.

No problems at all, browsing Amazon AU signed in. I've got uBO and eMatrix blocking crap, and Pure URL has cleaned up about 231 links on the page.

With one tab open (to this forum) Pale Moon memory usage is around 310 megs. With four tabs open (3 other forums) it's 340 megs. With two tabs of Amazon and two other tabs memory usage goes over 1 gig. Does that sound normal? I have 8 gigs of memory so that shouldn't slow things down, right? Total memory usage is only around 20%. Also according to the Mate System Monitor Pale Moon's CPU usage is around 80-100% when I scroll the page up and down. Any ideas?

Are you using any kind of adblocker on Amazon? The web is unusable without one now. Half the crap slowing things down tends to be analytics and other tracking scripts that offer no functionality to the end user.

I was able to order today. Had to allow a couple more cloudfront domains in ηMatrix to increase quantity. (I hate that stupid cloudfront naming system.)

For the past two weeks or so (it started about a week before Black Friday, when they changed their site look) Amazon has been (apparently) randomly dysfunctional for me as well, and disabling uBlock and all other extensions was not a valid remedy either. Sometimes, it simply refuses to show the results of a search.

Coming back the day after, the same search works, but then some other links are broken...

Not sure what's going on (could not pin-point a related error in the console).
