Yes it is. Although Windows 7 can loosely be considered the proper RTM of NT 6 vs Vista.. The aesthetics did take a hit in Windows 7 IMO. A sign of things to come in retrospect.. Anyway, I just like the bolder blue/green Vista aesthetics vs Windows 7's default.

Did you build Borealis from scratch?

Yeah, the trend continued to get worse. Win10's user interface threw away decades of research, testing, and development about usability. The loss of color and location cues is so obscene, it's practically like trying to use Windows in monochrome black and white mode, except with no borders drawn between anything. The design really slows down trying to see anything on screen. You have to already know what you're looking at to decipher its meaning. UI elements are hidden as invisible borders, hotspots, scrollbars - even buttons. This is literally the opposite of what UI design *means*. The most usable programs under Win10 are those that had excellent UIs in the first place, by implementing beyond the windows standard. As in, the non-standard parts of those UIs are not affected as much by the Win10 dumb-down, which means you can *still see them*!

This whole thing is the major reason I won't move to the current Win10.

That's what you get for asking stupid questions.

Alrighty, so why exactly is it a stupid question?

1) The website states it will be released when it is ready? Yet, here are people using it
2) No links to alpha/beta release builds / tarballs / executables
3) https://github.com/binaryoutcast website only shows releases for Interlink

Because it is literally stated on its website, if you would actually care to read past the first paragraph.

@moonchild I did read the whole thing. I was referring to this post?

People have tried out test builds once in a while. It's Tobin's project and not yet officially out with a public release.

Netscape Navigator was what I chiefly used back in the day. Then came Phoenix and I used the Mozilla suite.

But to be the demon jester that I am. If this is in fact coded with a paradigm called Tobin, it'll smoke all the hell rivaling that of Cheech and Chong.

You manage to be just entertaining enough to continue surviving on this forum. But only just.

Yeah, the XP freaks have been corrupting my work for over a year now but make no mistake there are good reasons why it isn't released yet.

Proper understanding.

BTW, I been doing some more work on Borealis to get it closer to a release. I do indeed still need to replace the shellservice/installer as the only hard blocker for 0.9 status.

Though, what I have done in the past 13 hours is significant including 5 of those hours reorganizing and optimizing the Preferences Window!

Linux 32 bit also.?
I doubt it, because 32-bit Linux is very old and compiling anything for it is a PITA.
Same argument must apply for 32bit windows.
old.?
Most linux distros 32bit are up to date .

any excuse just to toss 32bit on the shitpile and say ta da.

There are a few legit reasons to still produce a 32bit build for Windows. An obscure 32bit npapi plugin.. Some 64bit graphics drivers don't play well with us with 64bit code but they seem fine on 32bit builds. That and lots of lots of 32bit Windows users. A fuck ton more that Linux 32bit.

Regardless, this is irrelevant to my projects. I won't support Linux 32bit, period. Please do not bring it up again.
