Re: The Official Interlink Mail & News Discussion Thread
Global inbox setting as in? If your mail accounts are configured to use IMAP (which is what most providers offer these days), then your mail for each account remains on the corresponding server as well as locally and gets synced up. Only if you're using a POP account, then the mails get removed from the server and downloaded to your client, to the account named 'Local folders' where you can view them all together in one place.

That's Local Folders, which works with POP3 accounts. No way AFAICT to merge all messages from multiple IMAP accounts into one big list in the middle.

View/Folders/Unified
This is obviously 'just' a View change and does not touch any account settings, but it does offer a Global Inbox. Since we don't know what testy223 has in mind, that's my take on Global Inbox.

What is Interlink’s fate, now that the UXP has been deprecated (according to Pale Moon 30’s release notes, if I am reading them rightly)? I understand that the new GRE aims only to support Pale Moon. Does Binary Outcast plan to fork the old platform for its own end? I am not an Interlink user, but I am curious.

It is not true that GRE is Pale Moon only.TheRealMaestro wrote: ↑2022-03-17, 20:58What is Interlink’s fate, now that the UXP has been deprecated (according to Pale Moon 30’s release notes, if I am reading them rightly)? The deprecation of UXP will have no negative impact on Interlink. Interlink will be keeping pace with current platform development, even though the platform is now GRE, of course. The next version of Interlink will be released when it is done, and then return to the stable release train.

My mistake. I had misunderstood this sentence:Moonchild wrote: ↑2022-03-17, 21:34Where did I say this?TheRealMaestro wrote: ↑2022-03-17, 20:58I understand that the new GRE aims only to support Pale Moon.
I was too dense to realise that ‘target platform’ does not mean applications using the UXP or GRE.Pale Moon v30 release notes (emphasis mine) wrote: Instead, we are now building on the Goanna Runtime Environment™ (or GRE for short) focusing more tightly on the Goanna rendering engine and cutting out support for unmaintainable components and target platforms.

Target platforms are are OS/hardware combinations, to be clear.
