New KVM switch; monitor lost quality; can anything be done to make it better?

Post by ron_1 » 2026-04-06, 23:28

I just got a new 4-way KVM switch but the first thing I noticed is a loss of quality of the monitor image. The best way to describe it is that it lost some crispness, i.e., it looks just a tad bit blurry. This issue is just enough to bug me into returning this thing. Is there anything can be done to restore some sharpness to the monitor? The link below is the new KVM switch I got.

Return it and get one from a reputable brand. It loses quality because it has shit components and/or cuts corners to get to that low price point.

Put my old 2 computer KVM switch back on. Over 12 years old and much better. I guess StarTech is a reputable brand?
