Interesting write-up, and unfortunately older (2021) and no longer accurate as a result (e.g. Firefox legacy extension support, MacOS builds, etc.).
Glad to see someone who actually did their own research for once and not just writing up an article based on hearsay/reddit posters/regurgitating biased misinformation posts like most others.

Very possible they saw their income from the site fall off a cliff because of what AI is doing. When you have a site like that, it'll be scraped and then search engines will present an AI summary as an "answer" instead of directing people to the site. Same with people using Chat AI to get their answers. There won't be an incentive to write fresh content if it just gets ripped off without compensation.
