This needs to be a poll. *makes it one*

If a group hasn't seen it and is willing to read subtitles, I like to suggest Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale. It is pleasantly dark.

If not reading subtitles, I like to go with Anna and the Apocalypse. Very fun, but not for kids either.

I really don't think "Die Hard" is a Christmas type of movie. It is a "stretch" for me. As for the poll, I think a third choice could have added: Yes & No. If there was a third choice, I would have placed "Die Hard" in there. It is for this reason I did not vote in this poll.

I really liked the "Home Alone 1 & 2" Christmas type of movies with Macaulay Culkin.

Die Hard isn't, but Die Hard 2 feels slightly more Christmasy?

But I don't have a tradition of watching any particular movie during the season. Is that what it's about, a film you watch on Christmas eve, or one just set during the holidays?

I wouldn't call it a Christmas movie per se, but I can understand why a fan of the movie might want to watch it during the holidays with family if everyone enjoys it and it's tradition for them. Personally I prefer to watch "It's a Wonderful Life," but to each their own.
"The Athenians, however, represent the unity of these opposites; in them, mind or spirit has emerged from the Theban subjectivity without losing itself in the Spartan objectivity of ethical life. With the Athenians, the rights of the State and of the individual found as perfect a union as was possible at all at the level of the Greek spirit." -- Hegel's philosophy of Mind

The Die Hard franchise pales in comparison to the Home Alone franchise when it comes to Christmas movies.

Apparently a growing yuletide legion do put Die Hard into the Christmas movie box?
We seem to have at last settled the debate over whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie. The classic siege thriller is now regarded by a growing yuletide legion as the Christmas movie.
