So they will waste time on this bogus lawsuit while ignoring Google's browser monopoly. Figures.
I am the monster under Silicon Valley's bed.

Unless you personally have a source in the US Department of Justice, how do you know that they are not currently working on a case against Google?

I imagine there is a huge amount of work behind the scenes that goes into preparing for cases such as these before they are announced and people like you and I hear about them.

The US Department of Justice could be coming for Google/Alphabet with another case next? The article says Google is already facing antitrust lawsuits.

Besides, I wouldn't call the case bogus.

I think there are some questionable aspects of how Apple does things, like how they make it difficult for independent repair shops to repair their phones, or how they won't allow third-party app stores. But some of the other stuff, like saying Apple is obligated to allow "Super Apps" on their own app store or that they have to make third-party smartwatches work just as well with the iPhone as their own offerings seem a little bit like a reach...

Even as much as I dislike Apple's business practices, I am not sure I want quite this degree of government regulation of the smartphone industry. However, I suspect AI might be the tipping point at which society decides they've had enough of unregulated technology companies and everything tech starts being regulated to death more like traditional utilities are. That is, AI could be the nail in the coffin of the traditional tech innovation/startup thing, and we might be moving to a world where a lot of this stuff is more closely linked to the military... a world a bit more like the one where the Internet was the ARPANET project under DoD control, and civilian use of modern tech is a lot more regulated, with a lot more of this stuff being under lock and key as a state secret.
"The Athenians, however, represent the unity of these opposites; in them, mind or spirit has emerged from the Theban subjectivity without losing itself in the Spartan objectivity of ethical life. With the Athenians, the rights of the State and of the individual found as perfect a union as was possible at all at the level of the Greek spirit." -- Hegel's philosophy of Mind
