So apparently if you're under 18, you can't learn about handling memory in C++, because it is "unsafe."

I have to say, as much as I'm worried this means newer generations won't learn C++, it kind of makes me feel a bit validated in choosing to learn a "grown-up" programming language when I was only 13, while feeling like I was more mature. Apparently C++ really is too adult for the script kiddies... LOL.

I'd like to think this is the result of their AI being really stupid, but it could also be an insidious way of ensuring the next generation uses Rust or something. I have no idea which one it is at this point.

You know what I like? I like that I was part of the generation where I learned in school from the ground up what "structured programming" was. Hint: it's the opposite of "let's see how many libs we can glue together to "write" a "program". It's absolutely hilarious that they age-restricted self-defined "advanced" concepts.
So what does Google Gemini think is safe for minors to learn then? That's what I'd like to know!

So why AIs and the big tech does not promote Ada instead of rust, if they value safety so much? hmmm maybe its not as profitable or in the interest of tech tycoons.
