Chris Gauthier (Neville from NFS Carbon) has died.
Personally, I'm shocked and sorry even though I didn't know him, but I have a lot of childhood feelings associated with the character of Neville.

I stopped following Need for Speed after Most Wanted (2005), though a bit later in the era I played Undercover (2008).

I remember reading at some point about Ray Liotta's death, he was, among other things, the voice actor for protagonist Tommy Vercetti in GTA: Vice City.

You're right.
I finished with Most Wanted, Carbon and Undercover but I also like 2015 from what I saw on YT.

Need for Speed Carbon was the first game I played in the NFS series, and the introduction of Neville at the beginning as he guides you through the world is very memorable. On Wikipedia, I see that Chris Gauthier in that game is one of his most famous roles.

I kept playing every NFS game available on PC (although the amount of time in each one steadily decreased with each new release) right up to Need for Speed Payback (2017).

Need for Speed: The Run (2011) is a standout and I have replayed the entire game multiple times, it's a short game, but I respect it for trying something different by putting the narrative front and centre.

I don't think I have a favourite boss in Carbon, or it's been a while since playing and I have forgotten.

I find it interesting that NFS Carbon was released in 2006, the same year as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift movie and both showcase canyon racing. I guess it must have been a street racing craze at the time?
