I had previously had a KaiOS flip phone that was tolerable and wasn't loaded with un-removable trash bloatware by default a number of years ago. I was satisfied with it.
That one unfortunately broke within the past few months, and so I purchased a Nokia 2780 KaiOS flip phone.
I was furious to find that it was loaded with irremovable bloatware and ugly "file explorer" software.
After doing some research, it seems that the junkware can be removed through custom software, although I am going to need to pick up a USB cable to link the mobile phone to my PC. It also sounds like some recent updates to the OS have made it even more difficult than it was before to remove the problematic bloatware.
I didn't know if anyone had any recommendations or suggestions before I proceed with doing this. Part of me wondered if there was a way to replace the KaiOS version with the older version that I was comfortable with, but I suspected that that was unlikely.

Re: Nokia 2780 KaiOS Flip Phone
Apparently, it wasn't possible until just five months ago to do what I would need to do to get rid of the trashware for this particular model (Nokia 2780 KaiOS Flip Phone).
But this apparently now exists. I have no clue whatsoever how to make use of it, but I guess I'm going to have to learn.
Skimming through it (though not having the tech know-how) It looks like it might require a GNU/Linux computer to make work.
I was just about to set up my new GNU/Linux computer anyway, so I guess that might need to be done first. That wouldn't be a big deal if so, because as I said I was about to set it up.

Keep in mind that if you're running Windows 10 or 11, you can natively install a Linux distro through the "Windows Subsystem for Linux". You can then run native Linux applications (even GUI ones) in Windows. see "wsl" from the command line or powershell
