How to retrieve a Windows serial key from an offline drive?

How to retrieve a Windows serial key from an offline drive?

So from my previous computer a have a genuine Windows 7 ultimate fpp/retail license installed on an offline ssd drive inside an external usb case. I remember that some software exists that can read the licence from the windows registry. I forgot the name of that software. Why am I doing this? Because I can't find my win 7 box with the serial.

For example, NirSoft has a freeware tool for this:

I didn't have to use this one, but I've been using their other tools and they work nicely, so I suppose this one does, as well.
Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!
