Looks like the GStreamerLoader.cpp file is explicitly looking for the 0.10 versions of the gstreamer .so files. Maybe try changing those to the current 1.0 version filenames? I dunno if any of the other gstreamer files in mozilla/content/media/gstreamer/ are doing that, since I haven't had time to look through the rest of the source, but that's a good place to start.

GStreamer 0.10 is much different from 1.0, no point in doing that. Some distributions have version 0.10 provided for compatibility reasons, but it's not that common since it is unmaintained since 2012.

Wow, SeaMonkey is still using GStreamer 0.10? That's insane. Pale Moon added support for GStreamer 1.0 over 7 years ago before dropping it in favor of using FFmpeg instead about 6 years ago.

Nope, this is Instantbird that Moonbat and I are talking about. In retrospect I guess we should be using the offtopic tags for this. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah, gotcha!

I didn't read back far enough in the topic before posting.

They spurned Moonchild's offer to switch to Goanna and contribute to the platform (that would've definitely helped). Now they're screwed, stuck on an old version of Gecko while Firefox continues to diverge.
screwed only because Seamonkey has so
few devs nowadays unlike in the past

I don't think seamonkey has ever had "many devs". They've always leaned heavily on the Mozilla devs as a whole while doing their own thing. That's not a bad thing, mind you, but your post does seem to give the wrong impression.

so far only new 2.53.x releases like
2.53.17 beta 1 (that came out in late June) are being produced.
I won't be expecting any "major" releases of SM greater than 2.53.x this year (or even next year)
