I don't believe Fossamail was ever available for Linux, I think it was Windows only? I could be wrong, I wasn't around back when that was a thing. Anyway, there hasn't been a Fossamail for a long time. There is a new e-mail client in the works, though, so it might make more sense to wait for that.
"The Athenians, however, represent the unity of these opposites; in them, mind or spirit has emerged from the Theban subjectivity without losing itself in the Spartan objectivity of ethical life. With the Athenians, the rights of the State and of the individual found as perfect a union as was possible at all at the level of the Greek spirit." -- Hegel's philosophy of Mind

Yes, there was a linux version. Downloads might be available via an archive of the fossamail.org site on archive.org, but yeah, I'd also recommending waiting until the new e-mail client is released.

The last version from 2016/2017 is on the wayback machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20170427073 ... amail.org/

I was able to run it on Void Linux, I'm not sure about others.

Thank you very much. I once had installed this, but when support ended I unfortunately deleted it. I then used Thunderbird, but with every update the surface there got more shitty. So I froze the updates on Thunderbird. So for some Years I am working with an old version of Thunderbird, there are not any issues to be seen. So why don't give Fossamail a try....

The reasons why not to use Fossamail are that its development stopped 4-5 years ago and it would probably need security updates in order to run safely. But, like @athenian200 said, if you wait a short while he is going to make a newer version of an email client for UXP available. In fact, I've built a copy of it and am running it now, seems to work fine. The thread where the new email program is being discussed is here: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=28280&start=60
