The year 2021 was a very good year for me.
I spent lots of time outdoors flat water paddling on our subdivision's largest lake and our three area public lakes (Lake Woodlands, Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston), went down to the beach twice a month to surf some waves at Surfside, Texas on the upper Texas coast, found another good surfing place at a not so popular beach named Quintana Beach (because it is not easy to get to, less crowded and it is about 3 miles from Surfside) and went roving in the woods once a week with my 66" long recurve bows since I have two of them.
I plan on doing more of the same for 2022, but I'm also going to go down to the middle coast of Texas and surf the waves at Port Aransas, Texas since one of my retired online friends moved from California to Texas and has settled in Beeville, Texas. He told me I should stay at his home for a few days at a time and we can surf together during the work week when every non retired surfers are working. He is an old prone board surfer like me.
And I'll still be volunteering at the my next door neighbor's computer repair shop, which is less than a half mile from our homes in the small rural town I live in, turning Windows 10 and 11 computers into linux computers (Mint, Ubuntu, MX Linux, Linux Lite). For me, life is still very good. And if I start having a bad day, I'll "switch gears" and find a way to make it a good day.
At my age of almost 72, when I retired at the age of 60 from the maritime industry, I remembered the words my late father once said to me. They were; "When you retire from work; if you rest, you rust. Stay active." He retired when he was 49 years of age and passed away at the age of 85.
The bottom line for me, as long as I stay healthy, I'll have a good 2022.
