I don't see what a multilingual website has to do with being European or not. People speak multiple languages on every continent. It also would not make sense for Pale Moon as it is primarily an English-language product and is not published in multiple languages (which a multi-lingual website would also imply; if you go multilingual you have to go all the way). Language packs are a courtesy for those who prefer a native language UI.walmar wrote: ↑2026-06-02, 11:32Furthermore, a European stance might appear somewhat strange to the average non-English-speaking user for another reason.
The language barrier was mentioned in this thread. And I think that would be a valid objection — one where Pale Moon falls somewhat behind other presentations. The websites of common browsers are multilingual. Not that I would particularly miss it. Possibly negligible — given all the translation features and AI integrations nowadays.

Re: Pale Moon's PR Problem
Shouldn't this actually be a website about a fully non-commercial alternative to (the multilingual) Chrome?
I mean, you can label a product as "Made in Europe" or "Distributed in Europe" if you want. I don't dictate who can do that.
Furthermore, it is becoming increasingly common nowadays for developers to distribute their software exclusively through websites intended for English speakers.
That kind of thing doesn't scare me enough. And ultimately, I would definitely also use a so-called European web browser, which was primarily developed for German-speaking users – provided it is an excellent product.
All other users can use a World Wide Web browser primarily developed for *preferred language*.

It is. But an alternative doesn't mean that it is a clone. It's an alternative.
But I guess it would be someone from Germany making this into a sharp point about details.

Agree 100%, couldn't have said it better. Revamp achieved. Locked.back2themoon wrote: ↑2026-06-01, 10:41I think you are making too much of this. The home page "revamp" discussed here is not primarily meant for either seasoned Pale Moon users, or the text's author I imagine. It's meant for new users, most probably coming from Chromium, having no idea about the project. No one suggested political shifts, project goal changes or anything like that. It's mostly about a presentation change, meant to attract and inform.
